I’ve been a regular at Flower Pepper for about a year now, and whenever I stop by, I always have an excellent experience! The staff here are so kind, welcoming, and attentive. The food is delicious and consistent! I 100% recommend.

This is food made from the heart. It's warm and comforting. I've NEVER had flavors like these anywhere else. I eat here once a week and drive over 40 min. Absolutely worth it. They have tons of vegetarian options too!

Highly recommended! delicious! Forget the bad reviews. This is one of the last bastions of legit LEGIT homestyle Chinese/ Taiwanese food. Lurou fan braised pork rice? some. Fried noodles? have! Red oil copycat? Authentic and delicious! This is a no frills Chinese diner style ambiance. Ms. Wang was so hospitable, friendly and generous. she let us sample their Sichuan spicy wontons. DELISH.You want table linens and finer dining but want orange chicken? I think you need to go to Panda Express. Looking forward to their Beijing style breakfast egg crepes on Tuesdays.

Something for everyone in my family. We eat there from time to time. Everyone is pleasant but it’s a small space so we usually have it delivered or we pick up- either way we love the food.

Everything about this place was terrible. We ordered 2 beef noodle dishes and both of them tasted like bland broth with unseasoned vegetables and some instant noodles thrown in. It tasted more like a bland beef bourginon then an authentic chinese dish. We also ordered peking duck rolls which ended up being overcooked duck in sugar + hoisen sauce wrapped in a flour tortilla. All in all the food seemed like it was prepared by a young college kid trying to scrape by with whatever they had in the pantry. There was only one person working there and it seemed like he was just heating up leftovers in a microwave to prepare the food. He served us the soup and didn't even give us spoons until we asked. The tables were also all sticky and clearly hadn't been cleaned for quite some time.

East Coast guy is looking for ANY good food in Colorado, let alone Boulder.Chinese food in this state is AWFUL but I gambled on this place and was pleasantly surprised. My coworker and I stopped in expecting General Tso/Sesame Chicken like every other Chinese restaurant. If you're looking for that, this isn't the place. The menu is small because this is a small, family run, authentic Chinese food joint. I'd even consider it the "hole in the wall" that you're currently searching for.We got the DanDan noodles and the Wonton Noodles with pork/cabbage dumplings. AUTHENTIC. DELICIOUS.There had to be somewhere around 10-12 dumplings but I couldn't tell you now because I inhaled them! So good!So glad we stopped in! We will be ordering from here again

Unsanitary practices. While the woman at the counter was wearing gloves, she handled cash, repeatedly wiped her lip and nose with her gloved hand, moved her hair behind her ear, and then proceeded to pick up a handful of noodles. The food we received came from the back of the house. Half our order was something other than what was ordered. The dumplings were soggy and bland. The rice was mushy and slimy. Nothing about the meal was appealing unfortunately. I had high hopes because of the reviews, but I am incredibly disappointed in the quality of the food and the negligent food safety practices at the front of house.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp to the front door.

The tortilla duck rolls taste, displeasing. Very cute, warm and welcoming entrance. Soup was delicious, however, far too much oil was used. I will eat here again :)

Friendly staff and delicious food. One of the very few places you’ll be able to eat your meal in silence. Extremely affordable especially for its quality. Great vegetarian options too.

Flower Pepper is an incredible little restaurant offering authentic Taiwanese and Chinese food. Anything that make that involves broth or noodles is next level. I first found out about them from a friend who had lived in Taiwan for several years, raving about how he couldn't believe there was a truly authentic bowl of dandan noodles to be had in Boulder.Flower Pepper has become mine and my wife's go to place to recover from a hike. Rich broth, yummy noodles, wonderful aromatic flavor, quality ingredients. This is not an Americanized orange chicken serving establishment, so you'll need to head elsewhere if that's what your after. But if you want Dandan noodles or Zhazhiang noodles, this is your spot. They run a tight, frugal operation as well. Limited seating in a galley arrangement, maybe 10 people could eat in the restaurant max, packed tight. Running with only a couple staff at any given time. But what that means, is you can get incredible value off their menu, with some of the dishes like the Dandan noodles at $8 priced at roughly half of what most restaurants in the Boulder area would price it at ($15-16 is more typical for noodles, bone broth, meat, and veg in a single dish for the area).

I love this little restaurant. The service is great. The food is always so good. The Dan Dan noodles are my favorite. Because there’s limited seating, most people seem to take their food to go or order pickup so I’m often the only one eating at the restaurant which feels like a sweet respite from the hustle and bustle of life. Plus where else can you get a big plate or bowl of delicious food for ~$10 anymore?!

I am really disappointed because I had high hopes for this place. Someone really threw rotisserie chicken onto cold, flavorless noodles and veggies then charged you 50$ for it. :( way over priced for the quality of food. Regret spending any money here. The dumplings were cold and falling apart. Also the weird brown sauce that looked like cat vomit wasn’t even edible. I ended up throwing all the food away and didn’t even get half my refund back.
