If you're looking for generous portions, love Thai food and don't want to spend a fortune, then this is the place. It's located in the middle of "Student Ville" and although the venue isn't a place for romantic getaways or special occasions, the food is really good!

We visited in late May, as things were just starting to re-open post-COVID. Parking was on-street in the surrounding neighborhoods. Their may have been pay-parking also? We just walked the ~ 2 blocks to the restaurant. You enter a food-court / food-hall configuration from the main street, and descend some stairs to where the restaurants are located. It appeared that they normally did some level of dine-in (collectively), but that appeared closed now (I don't know what they would have done if we just sat down and started eating...?). There were around 5 - 6 counter-service restaurants down in this area, and 2 - 3 of them were closed at the time. Thai Avenue was staffed by one (brave) lady who cooked, answered the phone, took walk-up orders, etc. She seemed to be keeping pace with things, though the cooking process took a bit of time. I'd guess it is quicker under 'normal' circumstances, though. We placed our order and waited. Eventually, everything was cooked and ready. I tried to leave a generous tip based on her obvious workload. We thought we might have to walk quite a ways to a local park to eat, but the cook-lady noted that they had a patio-thing as you entered (I didn't notice it at first). It was basically a separated area with 3 picnic tables. Plus around noontime, it was in the shade! we gladly just ate there. The only downside to the patio was some local hustler who chatted up some frat boys who'd taken over the adjoining table. He spent most of his efforts on them while we ate, but eventually asked us how things were going (just as we finished). I don't know if he frequents the area, but if you eat there be prepared to fend him off or buy his exotic beers or whatever... In all, I liked this place and would return for the food, though I'd prefer to eat in the food hall, if possible.

So far I've gotten to try a variety of dishes including the spicy pork, Kim Chi soup, curry bowl, bibimbap, gimbap, and udon. Lots of little traditional Korean side dishes like Kim Chi, Kim Chi radish, and kongnamul (bean sprouts) as well. Lots of great flavors, I think spicy pork and bibimbap are my favorite, run by the sweetest and hardest working woman in Boulder. Always a good dining experience, highly recommend it!

Lots of great options all in one spot! I especially love Friends with Bennys and 1000 Degrees Pizza! And I can never get enough of the Thai tea from Thai Avenue!

This place has really good food and the environment is relatively nice. The problem with this establishment is that age and minority discrimination are highly prevalent within one of the staff members. Multiple times I and my friends have been paying customers, and despite the fact that we were very respectful and quiet, one of the staff members forcefully and rudely asked us to leave. She never has a reason to do so, and I am quite disturbed by the fact that she feels the need to exercise their ability to kick people out simply to exploit her power over the youth. This is a growing problem among adults, and our generation has become dehumanized by people like this and the reason why the youth struggles in these ways is simply because adults like her do not treat us as equals. I don’t recommend eating here. It is a hostile place in terms of this particular person.

Really delicious food options make this great option for lunch, but it's super crowded over lunch so it can be hard to find seats.

Absolutely awful the woman who’s the “manager” doesn’t know her rights. A fair warning if you buy food and sit in the corner booth she will kick you out for no reason what so ever, I will most likely be reaching out to upper management about the situation

I love Goody Monster so much! My only complaint is that it's never open when I'm in Boulder on the weekends during weird hours. The little lady who runs this shop seriously makes the best kimchi stew that I have ever had in my entire life, and I have eaten a lot of kimchi stew (it's my go to whenever I eat Korean and can get it). Someday I'll get back here when they're open and can eat there again. Until that day I'll keep dreaming about the perfect stew and it's accompanying fluffy rice.

I've been eating kimchee chigae for almost all my life. This one is the second best I have ever had!! The only thing I would say is that it had a lot of tofu, but that's totally fine. I also got a to go of the japchae which was also good.. just wish she offered this in a side order size :) It's on the hill in the kitchen. I went while school was out so it wasn't busy, and she was super nice. I'll definitely be there again!! Oh and I think the name is Seoul Kitchen now and not Goody Monster.

Big fan of this place, especially since authentic Korean food is hard to find around these parts. Have been here 3 times, always order the bibimbap and it is consistently delicious, especially if you get a side of kimchi with it. The tiny kitchen is run by an adorable Korean lady who works really hard to make sure you are happy. My only complaint is that I wish the beef portions were bigger, the rice to meat ratio is WAY off.
