Thank you to The Hungry Toad for accommodating our group of 14 for lunch. They bent over backwards to make sure we were satisfied with seating and service, which made for an extremely pleasant experience. Special shout-out to our server, Becks, and also to the general manager.

Food was fine, but I will not be returning due to poor service and that’s what my 1 star review reflects.
I arrived close to closing and I wasn’t greeted at the door so I walked toward the back where staff were standing to ask about my takeout order. The waitress I spoke with immediately became defensive, opening her arms toward me as if I were attempting to enter the kitchen or posed some sort of threat, and then she told me she’d meet me at the front.
I explained that I was picking up my own takeout order, provided my name, and asked if she could check on its status. At that point, I stepped back outside to wait because the interaction had already felt tense and unpleasant, and I preferred not to continue engaging with the people or space. When I returned to pick up my food, she assumed I was a delivery person and asked me to show a receipt and process the delivery before handing over the order. I had to explain again that it was my personal order.
The interaction felt judgmental and presumptive, and while a review can only convey so much, the overall experience was unwelcoming and unpleasant. Because of this, I will not be returning.

Our medium rare steak was closer to well done and we had to send it back. After we paid, they forgot to bring our credit card back and I noticed alwhen we got home but they were closed. I called the next day and ask them to find my card so that I can go back and get it. The person who answered the phone got my name and after thirty seconds came back and said it wasn't there. So I called the bank and cancelled my card. But I went back to the restaurant later in the day and asked the manager to check and see if my card is there. She said it will take a few minutes because we have over a hundred cards here. She came back with my credit card in a few minutes! It surprised me for two reasons, first because the person who answered the phone phone when I called came back in thirty seconds which would not have been enough to check all the cards, obviously my card was there and it was found when I went there and asked for it a second time. Secondly, if they have so many missing cards, it may indicate that sometimes the customers forget to take their cards and, possibly more often, the staff forget to bring the card back. Overall I had a terrible experience here.

I recently ordered a Butty Royale to be picked up and it was the best hamburger I've had in ages. Great authentic atmospshere in the heart of Boulder. The fish and chips looks to die for so I guess I'll get that next time.

Nice change of pace. Great beers. Good food (due to a power outage, I could not order what I wished for). And way more authenticity than most other Pubs, bars or taverns in Boulder.

Came here for dinner Christmas Eve and the service was wonderful and the friendliness of the staff was just as nice. I had a cough and they even made me a special concoction. Thanks and we will be back!!

I am extremely angry that I received a text message requesting a review at 1:00 AM the day after the dinner. The text notification woke me up. Other than that, service and food were excellent.
On the backside of the wind storm the Hungry Toad was a welcome reprieve. They happily accommodated a larger group without a reservation, and staff was great all night.
The food and atmosphere only continues to improve! I was stealing chicken tenders from my kids as they were obscenely tasty and perfectly cooked. Fish and chips and Reuben also excellent, and some mighty fine ales (including cask beer) on tap.

We called in today to see if Palmieras was playing and Taylor went above and beyond to help us find where to stream it, even though we wouldn’t be coming in to watch it.
