I cannot believe this place has been overtaken by some bs corporate hotels group. I paid 22 dollars for a smith and cross daiquiri, which used to be 13 dollars, but now it is 22 dollars, which by the way a smith and cross 750 ml bottle is $35. I get the hotel needs to make profit; but that is wayyyy too overpriced. This used to be my favorite bar in Boulder to get unique and exotic drinks and now it is another corporate money maker. Only come here if you want to blow a bunch of money on crap you could get at the Sundown Saloon.

We went to License no 1 for new joke night hosted by Comic Cents. It was a great, intimate space and there was a great variety, the mood of the evening was very light hearted for new joke night and I would definitely go again!!

If there was a zero I would choose that. I am a local business owner and got targeted by the bartender and manager after 1 beer at the bar. They made a poor assumption and wouldn’t own up to it. I got kicked out after one beer at a private work event. Own up to your mistakes guys. Additionally, our company booked a private room that they were not prepared for. We waited 30 minutes for service at the bar for a booked room at our private event. This is my first time at this location. I was very excited but I really just can’t believe how I was treated as a 45 year old at at work event. It seems to me that the bar is only prepared for drunk college students and that’s how they plan to treat everyone. I would like to say that the door man bouncer was very considerate and kind and saw the entire thing. He understood that I was not drunk and was understanding. I am not sure why or how I got treated this way but I will never go back to this location for business or for my tour company. We are all human and all I expect is for people to be honest. That did not happen. If you are a commercial company I would strongly suggest booking your event somewhere else.

Love this place! I've been to the Comic Cents comedy show several times and it's always great. There are always at least 3 comics per night and each and every one has been great. I had family in town last weekend and we wanted to go somewhere that was a sure thing and as usual Comic Cents and License 1 delivered. All 3 comics were great and we loved the atmosphere and service. Highly recommend.
