Great food and service again from Red Agave. We ordered the enchiladas trio and they were so good. Our son got an order of tacos and really liked them. This food is just delicious and they probably have best enchiladas in Boulder.

I probably had the best Mexican food I have ever had in Colorado at this restaurant. We ordered take out and I was very impressed with how amazing it all was as well as how much food it was. I will definitely go back and tell everyone I know about it!

With all the restaurants allowed to offer only takeout, I stopped by Red Agave this morning for a Breakfast Burrito. EXCELLENT !

Recently ate here and it was mostly fine. Right off the bat the waiter explained that there was only beer and tequila available, suggesting to me they hadn't paid their alcohol purveyors, but who knows. The food was fine, but the waiter was exactly the type I don't like. He tried to upset us on everything in the most obvious way, tricked us into buying a bowl of salsa we didn't really want by asking if we wanted to "try a little bit of" his "special salsa" without mentioning we'd be paying for it, and generally had a tacky used car salesman vibe. He had this whole schtick down and maybe it works for some people (think cruise line passengers who genuinely ooh and ahh at a theatrical flambé demonstrations. You know, the ones who get out at port, but don't stray far) but it just screams "I'm a scammer" to me. The other staff were all very nice. The food was fine. So, if you avoid this guy, maybe you'll have a good time. Alternatively, if you like a person who says "trust me" a lot while trying to extract more money from you, it's perfect. I don't anticipate going back.

Now named Red Agave, this place takes my vote for best Mexican food in Boulder. I grew up on the Mexican border and have savored good Mexican food for many year. There are a lot of Tex-Mex restaurants around and the fare from most of them is mostly uninspired. Red Agave rises above this in preparing very well seasoned, very nicely presented food that includes not only many of the standard dishes, but also some more interesting ones. For example, their Chile Relleno en Nogada, a stuffed poblano pepper covered with a walnut-cream sauce and pomegranate seeds, is out of the ordinary and delicious. Their enchiladas, particularly with green or mole sauce are terrific.

Embarrassing that I had never been here before. It's excellent and our server Santiago was incredible both with service and suggestions. Great ambiance too, despite strip mall location.

Family owned by a local chef who has been cooking since age 10. Must-try spot for great Mexican food, with fresh table-side guac and homemade salsas (try the hot one). The veggie tamale with mushrooms, spinach and green salsa is to die for. My husband loved his steak fajitas. Fun tequila bar in the back to start the nighht off, too.
