We've been coming to the Boulder Cork since it opened in 1969. It remains one of our favorite places for a special night out. The food, service and ambience are consistently excellent. And even when they're busy- which they usually are- the noise level is pleasant. You can actually have a nice conversation over dinner, unlike many Boulder restaurants.
We enjoyed a delicious meal last night despite the poor service. After receiving water and bread and waiting patiently we asked the hostess to please send our server so we could order a drink. The server came and offered no apology for the wait nor did he introduce himself. Later He brought our entree before clearing our salad dishes - not terrible but an awkward shuffle of dish ware. He then brought me a wine refill and upon pouring it in my glass he poured a portion on the table...
I won't be coming back. The noise level in the bar is just too much. Our table of four on the floor in the bar and last week in a booth both had us shouting to be heard. I love this place but I'm finally done with happy hour . The noise is not worth it.
