The low light and fast service had me upon entry. This is the exact kind of place you'd imagine if "modern Colorado bistro" was in mind. The drink, a French 75 was tasteful, same as the ambiance. The braised short ribs could be a on a TV show. Would eat again, would recommend.
I had submitted a request for a private dining experience for my wedding rehearsal dinner here after seeing the great reviews. No one ever did respond to my request, so I called to follow up a week later. I was told that I would have an email response by the end of the weekend. That never did happen either, so I called back the following Wednesday. The staff member I spoke with very disgusting on the phone. Cut me off as I was explaining the reason for my call and ultimately ended up hanging up on me. I have never felt the need to write a bad review for any business, but this may have been the worst customer experience I have ever encountered. I would never recommend this restaurant after the way I was treated here.
Sadly, this wonderful restaurant has closed forever. The food, service, and ambience were superb. It was a favorite of many locals and James and Brennan, owner and bartender, became personal friends with the clientele (along with too many of the staff to mention). 4580 occupied a great space along the continuously-developing North Broadway corridor in Boulder; hopefully, a new and just-as-good restaurant will take over and prosper. Thank you for all the great meals and memories, James!
McKENNA was a superb server for our party of four. She was kind, attentive and professional, and gave us excellent suggestions for our dinners and wines. Thank you all, especially McKenna, she's a treasure who represents North End at 4580 very well.
The place is nice and service was good but for the price I expect better food. Food wasn't bad but nothing wowed us.
If any restaurant qualifies as a Neighborhood Gem, it's The North End at 4580. We've been going there since its inception and have never once been disappointed. The best way to describe it, I think, is comfortable. James and his team always make you feel welcome from the time you walk in until you leave. It's a well-run restaurant: Wait staff are well trained, the menu changes with the seasons and James pays special attention to the wine list, which features interesting wines at good price points. Boulder doesn't have much in the way of patio dining any more; however, 4580 has one of the best patios around. We highly recommend 4580 to anyone looking for good food in a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
Wonderful place to eat or happy hour. James and company make you feel like the only people at their establishment
Our waiter was fine. Not super attentive, as he only checked on us once after our meal was served, but he did his job and was nice. Let's talk about the food. We all ordered the risotto. An $18 dish. Two of us ordered the scallops add on for $15, totaling a $33 meal. The food was delicious, but. 3 scallops the size of a quarter, and the risotto was gone after 5 forkfuls. I had a $12 cocktail. My bill was $50 before tip and I left hungry. Hungry after a full fat risotto and $60 lighter. I've eaten at your restaurant a dozen times. I won't again.
Our first time dining at The North End and we will definitely be returning. Great food and service, Emily our server was fantastic!
We really like this restaurant. Food is always excellent and there are a variety of things offered on the menu - from wonderful apps and great burgers to imaginative and tasty entrees. The cocktail menu and wine list will satisfy anyone's desires.

Amazing happy hour! The food was delicious, drinks were refreshing and service was top notch. Will definitely return soon! 💛
This north Boulder gem is an upscale, casual contemporary American restaurant. Very creative chef. Last night we tried the "Dinner for two" option, which includes a shared starter and dessert, two entrees and a bottle of wine. Everything on the menu is fair game, and all currently priced at $88. Service was professional, friendly and attentive--thank you, Emily--and the jumbo seared Scallops was fantastic, and beautiful to see. Outdoor dining was peaceful and refreshing. James, the owner, stopped by making the whole experience that much more personal. Try the bacon-wrapped stuffed dates for a starter. It has been on the menu for years, and for good reason.
We generally really like this neighborhood spot which has upscale food and ambience at moderate+ prices ($$+ or so, depending on what you order). We stopped in for a quick dinner and decided just to split the beet salad and the farmer's risotto adding salmon. Both dishes were excellently prepared and very tasty. However our server Jordan committed three rather basic mistakes I would not expect at a restaurant of this caliber: he didn't tell the kitchen that we requested no peppers in the risotto (it came out full of red peppers), he was late on asking how our initial bites were, and he let us run out of water until I had to ask him to please bring us some. He did give us a credit on our bill to compensate for his faux pas, which we appreciated. So - we will be back for the great food, but will be mindful of evaluating the service to decide whether we will continue to make this spot a regular trip or not - there are *lots* of great places in Boulder to choose from!
Go there for a drunk and leave....Pros: large, stiff and cheap cocktails. They ain't that good, but the price to volume is great.Cons: everything else. 3 dishes we tried I can cook 3 times better at home for a fraction of the price. Scallops completely overcooked, watery tomato sauce and under ripe tomatoes in the pappardelle.Decor is pretty tacky. Feels like a hotel.
We found this local neighborhood gem about a month ago and we absolutely love it! The food is delicious and the service is spot-on. We recently went there to celebrate a friend's birthday and everyone had a wonderful time and enjoyed the food and drink. The HH menu is awesome for both food and drinks. Not to be missed and you certainly won't be disappointed!
