Tried this for the first time for lunch. Very nice authentic interior and atmosphere with German music playing in the background. Nice menu selection. Had 6 people in our party and ordered/tired a variety of food. All was very good and portions were great. People may complain about prices but wasn't isn't more expensive nowadays? Well worth the money and we'll be back for sure! Highly recommend!Parking: Location is a a small house that had former French restaurant in it. Parking is located on side of the house but other parking close by.

Celebrated our anniversary here! Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience!!! Delicious authentic Bavarian/German comfort food with a nice selection of German Beers and Wines. The server was knowledgeable and explained any foods we didn’t recognize. This is a hidden gem! Canon City has really developed a variety of good quality cuisines to try and enjoy! We will be back with friends and family!

Ate here with eight family members to celebrate a retirement. The waitresses were excellent. I would have preferred a more "German" ambiance but it was nice enough. The food was excellent, too! Everything we ordered was very good, with the exception of the pretzel. Sorry, but it was NOT a Bavarian pretzel. The beer was also very good, dark German-style beer. I would certainly recommend this characteristic restaurant to anyone who wants an enjoyable departure from the status quo.

I was searching for something different for my wife's birthday, and she questioned the Anneliese (she did not know the name, only its location in Canon City). After a little more searching, we decided to try it as other places required reservations, and I failed in that department.I have been to Germany, and some other old world type restaurants within the States, and I found the hoffbrau hause look to be very authentic to those I have ventured to. A lovely decor, and colorful table settings waited for us. I actually thought they weren't open at first because there was no mater'D, but the staff was busy prepping dinner items, and we were greeted nice, prompt, and seated in a window nook area.My German is rusty, but decided to order a sausage plate, which is a sample of bratwursts, all very tasty, complimented with rustic bread and condiments. My wife wanted to try the potato cakes and applesauce, which were a treat, so satisfying. If I were smarter I'd have stopped there, but for my dish I ordered jagerschnitzle. The wife ordered the rahmschnitzle. Lightly seasoned potatoes and the red cabbage completed the palate, and kaiser rolls in generous portions (like I said I should have stopped with the sausage). My wife received a complimentary spirit, I believe a glass of wine, and I stuck with coffee and a soda. We decided to top off our meal with desert, a slice of all three entres of black forrest cake, bee sting cake, and a raspberry almond torte, or pie. Again, if I were smarter, only one of the choices would have been better. Very rich, sweet, and a great way to end any meal, we couldn't finish.Lovely presentation, great flavor, portions were awesome, and we enjoyed every bite we had, as well as our leftovers.Been looking for a place to take Pop for a long time, hopefully we will be booking a party with Annalise in the near future.Thank you Annalise German Cusuine.

They sat our group of 12 upstairs and seemed to keep forgetting about us. The place was not busy at all. At the very least, they should have brought us pitchers of water if they weren't going to check on us. Overall experience was not worth the price.

The German DNA in me (@1/4%) was quite happy with the food as was the rest of me. I wasn't sure what to expect as this was my first time at this restaurant and I don't know anyone that's been here before. I had the elk & rabbit stew and it was so flavorful and hearty that I'd highly recommend it. The potato cakes appetizer was ok, a little oily for my liking but the people that were dining with me liked them more than I did. The salad that came before my meal was very good. The desert was my second favorite part of the meal after the stew. It's a very dense lemon cake with a delicious cream in the middle that was very delicious.I did not give the German names to the dishes as my German is non-existent but I didn't add pics of the awesome menu and I should have described the dishes well enough that one can find them on the menu. This is a very comfortable, cozy, Grandma's house feel type of place that seats less than 60 people which seems like a lot of people for this building but there may be seating upstairs I'm not sure. This is a two story house which gives to cozy feel especially on these cold cloudy and snowy days here in Colorado. My wife will just love this place and I can't wait to take her there.

Authentic cuisine with a touch of old country ambiance. The schnitzel was tasty and the German salad varieties took me back to my grandmother's kitchen when I was a young girl. Highly recommended for something unique, different and memorable.
