I do a lot of traveling. This is one of the top 3 restaurants I have dined at. The food was always exceptional, as was the staff. Their filet was one of the best money could buy, anywhere. They have closed this week after over 30 years in the business. This restaurant will be impossible to replace and will be sorely missed. The owners retirement is a shame, but the memories live on.
We were excited to finally try this place for dinner, especially after reading the stellar reviews. Our experience was just okay, nothing special, which is what we were hoping for. First of all, it. Great local place, the service is nice, the food is made to order, even the mustard is made to order (I think so) which I really enjoy. The duck entrée is pretty good as well. A must visit in Canon City, be sure to check it out after you take the Royal Gorge Route train ride.
