I do a lot of traveling. This is one of the top 3 restaurants I have dined at. The food was always exceptional, as was the staff. Their filet was one of the best money could buy, anywhere. They have closed this week after over 30 years in the business. This restaurant will be impossible to replace and will be sorely missed. The owners retirement is a shame, but the memories live on.

We were excited to finally try this place for dinner, especially after reading the stellar reviews. Our experience was just okay, nothing special, which is what we were hoping for. First of all, it. Is. Slow. But we didn’t mind since we were celebrating a special occasion and it gave us a lot of time to visit amongst ourselves. We ordered a bottle of wine from their wine list (nothing special) and began the wait. The pate appetizer was really good, then came the salad’s. They were mediocre. The special (crab stuffed sole) was really good. And while the duck is supposed to be amazing we thought it wasn’t very good. The breast was over cooked and dry, and the rest of it was tough (I took it home and braised it and turned it into enchilada’s). Desserts were okay too, nothing special. It was expensive, and for the price we felt things should have been better. Better wine list, more attentive service and better food.

Great local place, the service is nice, the food is made to order, even the mustard is made to order (I think so) which I really enjoy. The duck entrée is pretty good as well. A must visit in Canon City, be sure to check it out after you take the Royal Gorge Route train ride.

We had a lovely dinner. Charming in a small house run by a couple for over 35 years. The chef is the husband and his wife runs the front of the house. They were short-staffed but you could barely tell from the service and food. we really enjoyed the escargot, the lamb, and the tornedos. Surprising wine list. Don't sleep on this restaurant. I have a feeling this couple will retire in the near future and that will be a loss.

I found a chicken dish at Le Petit Chablis that is so amazingly good it is the only thing I order when I go there. I am sure other items on the menu are equally good, but I honestly should not comment. The owners are awesome. I just love this place. What a treasure to be found in our little corner of the world.

Wow! This restaurant is wonderful! Daniel and Michelle are attentive and gracious. The food was prepared perfectly, with delicate sauces that enhance the flavors of the meats, seafood and vegetables. The bread pudding was a delicious end to the meal.

Sublime French cuisine, and exemplary service, make La Petit Chablis, the best fine restaurant in Cañon City, hands down. I had, (and highly recommend), the Canard á l'Orange, a succulent, boneless, roasted half duck, with a creamy Au Marnier sauce, that will thrill your tastebuds, and closing your eyes for happiness. Paired with perfectly cooked, and seasoned, rice pilaf, and vegetables, it was a meal fit for the Sun King, himself. My husband had the Entrecôte Blackened, Ribeye, seared with Cajun spices, (cooked to your order), flavorful and tender, with creamy horseradish on the side. A potato croquette, crunchy deliciousness outside, and creamy goodness inside, along with the vegetables, made the meal, a feast. So many wonderful dessert offerings, but I have to highly recommend the Tiramisu! Chef's creation of this old favorite is amazing, and I've never had one made this way, (and he's spoiled me forever, on any of the old versions). Light, sponge cake-like, "ladyfingers", surround a generous dome of light, sweet, creamy custard. In a word, Sublime! If you love crepes, and ice cream, the Crepe a la praline is a definite must! If you are in Cañon City, and you want to treat yourself to an amazing meal, do yourself a favor, and go to Petit Chablis! An effortless Five Stars, we will be back, soon!

I had the escargots and the New Orleans assortment ; crawfish pie , jambalaya and blackened catfish . All were excellent and tasted very fresh. Will most assuredly be returning . My wife had the tournedos of beef and my son had the lamb and both enjoyed it quite a lot as well. Also, the restaurant is in an old Victorian and is quite cozy and charming. The only thing I found fault with was my chair being a mite flimsy.

This place is outstanding. We surprised them with 7 people at lunch and they were kind and and Toni's right away. The food is amazing and the place is as adorable as they come. Highly recommend.

This place is worthy of an anniversary dinner. My wife and I were there for our 33rd. It's a big Victorian house converted to a restaurant and it looks and feels elegant, but not overly so. I don't know a lot about wines; neither did the friendly and welcoming co-owner, Mrs. Petit. We got a good bottle. People pay a big mark up with wine, so you expect a fancy French restaurant to be able to know what a Bordeaux blend is (especially if it's their own house wine). My wife had the mushroom soup. It was delicious. She also had a chicken marsala that was obviously the work of a great cook. I had the tournedos au poivre (beef tenderloin with a crushed black pepper sauce). It was cooked exactly as requested. The place is quite busy. Make reservations. It was a little noisy, too. Even so, we had a good sized table at a bay window and really enjoyed the food. Definitely a go-to place in Cañon City, Colorado.

Great place for a special occasion. Make sure to spend two hours to truly enjoy yourself. The food is make to order. The asparagus salad was delicious. Enjoyed every bite. Each entre was prepared by Chef Daniel. The catfish filet was a little over seasoned yet the puff pastry stuffed with crawfish with very tasty. The rice on the salmon needs to be prepared with more spices and seasoning. The hollandaise sauce was fresh and fluffy. Needs a bit more lemon juice to bring it all together. The service was there when you need them but not intrusive. When someone is celebrating something special please make a note of it.I'm not looking for a free dessert but for future guests it makes them feel more special when you acknowledge what they're celebrating at the beginning of their dining experience.Hope you continue to do well with this beautiful restaurant.

Visited for a bachelorette party dinner. Ava was our server, and on multiple occasions she expressed her impatience with us. At one point she realized she was yelling over our table and even stopped herself by saying “not to yell.” We got together to celebrate a friend and her Aunt had flown in from Hawaii, of course we all wanted to visit. The food was absolutely delicious. As a pescatarian, I asked Ava if anything came with my salmon dish, other than the fish, because I didn’t eat any meat, only seafood. She assured me it didn’t. Only later, when she brought out a plate of wild rice and veggies for another vegetarian at our table did she say, “the chef made the wild rice for you because the white rice is made with chicken stock.” I was so upset and disappointed. I specifically asked if ANY meat products were used and I was assured that they weren’t. People with dietary requests expect when they make those requests known, that they are honored. If they can’t be honored, let us know, we will gladly go where they can be. A member of our party also had a black piece of plastic in her food. She bit into it and when she let Ava know, she just asked for the piece of plastic and asked my friend, “do you want to keep the plate?” No manager came up to address the issue. For the amount of money we spent, and the service we received, I can tell you it was definitely not worth it.
