The brisket was served shredded and was some of the worst brisket I've ever had 🤮 avoid at all cost

If I could give 0 stars I would, but where do I start? when we walked in place was almost completely empty. On a Friday night at 5pm It took 10 minutes for us to be seated, afterwards our waiter was nowhere to be found, waited 15 minutes to get our drinks, then another 50 minutes for our food, definitely not worth the wait, burgers were ok, service was terrible, would not recommend to anyone. I don’t do reviews but man this one took the cake.

Great happen-stance find. Smoked meats and homemade sauces are outstanding! History of the Saloon and the old bar is beautiful!

We just stopped in for a beer and tried some spicy cheese curds. The have a modest sized bar and a handful of beers on tap. Some of the food menu items looked really good and I would've tried them but we had already eaten. The bartender was friendly and took good care of us for the short time we were there

So we been coming here for YEARS! We USE to love this restaurant it’s a bit older smells like an old antiques shop but sadly over time the quality of the food has gone down drastically!!!! The portions are sooooo small, the staff is very very limited! I will sadly never return! I can see why this place was LESS busier too! The food is cold, portions are SMALL, no sides with your brisket sandwich 🙄

I went to the bar and had a bloody mary. It was smokey BBQ and very good! I had a corn whiskey on the rocks and that was really really good! It was.l Colorado corn! I also had a banana tres leches. The bartender made it homemade, real bananas!!!! That dessert was bananas!!!!! Legit ten stars! A ten star whiskey lunch!

The burger with coleslaw & the smoked shredded bbq chicken sandwiches were delicious. The service was pleasant, attentive & fast. We visited on a Monday & there was plenty of open seating. We were so relieved to not have to eat at a casino. Highly recommend.

Most of our party described their food as warm not hot and one couple’s food was barely warm.
The cook’s radio was loud enough for our party to have to talk over it.

Everything was excellent. Bartender was amazing. Football games were rolling. Got those corn nuggets and the sampler(brisket and lamb) green beans n Mac n cheese. Hubby got pig wings and the sampler(brisket n ribs with potatoe salad n beans. I would have got dessert but I saw the candy store across the street. Next time.

After catching the older kiddo and his MTB team compete, my beautiful Bride and teen swung by JKQ for a bite to eat.
Upon walking in, we were greeted by the warm, smoky aroma of barbecue, usually that's a good sign. There was a guy in the corner of the bar playing live music. We did not have to wait for a table.
As appatizers, we ordered loaded tots and cowboy bites. The tots were okay, not as loaded as we had hoped. The cowboy bites were better, creamy with a bit of corn and jalapenos. Definitely would order those over the tots.
The meal we got a sampler platter with brisket and lamb with mac and cheese and cole slaw. The meat was good. Both had a slight smoke flavor, sort of underwhelming, not bold in flavor, maybe could have used a bit of added rub. The best part is it did not taste canned, in house for sure. And, both BBQ sauces were homemade. The mild one was on the vinegary side and the hot was not too hot, It had more like a chili powder kick and definitely more flavor than the mild.
The Mac and cheese was good, cheesy enough in the middle with a little crisp on top. All three of us agreed the coleslaw was harder to pin down. It wasn't quite creamy like a typical mayo based. Almost had a yogurt slaw feel, but then again, not really. None of us were fans.
The best part of this meal was hands down the dessert. We got a strawberry tres leches cake. It was super moist, perfectly sweet, and just flat-out delicious. We’d come back for that dessert alone.
The historic building gives the place a lot of charm, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and quick with refills.
Would we return? Probably, especially if dessert is on the agenda. JKQ has a cool vibe and some standout items, even if the main BBQ didn’t blow us away.

Very nice looking place, and no wait for seating. Service was a little terse, but I can deal with that. The food is not good. Chicken was pulled breast, had no smoke flavor, and was very wet and bland. The rest of the meal was similar, not seasoned and tasted old. Maybe it was an off day.
