“We have been frequenting the IHOP in Glen Carbon IL since it’s reopening. Our experience has been great. Credit given to our sweet waitress Makenna C. She is the perfect waitress, she has a great personality and makes you feel so welcome. The food is great and being gf, I truly appreciate the gluten friendly pancakes and other menu items.“

“We ate at the IHOP on Stetson Blvd on the 4th of July. We were seated right away and got our drinks right away. The sweet ice tea was great. I ordered a pancake combo, and my wife ordered an omelet with sreak. Everything was quick, and the food was great. High marks for everything except the parking area. There is a huge pothole in the parking area that needs to be addressed!“

“Breakfast was really good! I especially enjoyed the eggs—they were cooked perfectly. The strawberry shake was also quite nice, and my mom loved her avocado toast. The service was friendly, but one thing felt a bit off: we were given the check while we were still eating. What if we wanted to order something else? It came across a little like they were rushing us out. Other than that, a very nice experience overall.“

“We missed the sign: wait to be seated. So we seated ourselves. As a result we waited 5 minutes before going back to the front so we could get menus & service. Food was good and waitress did speed up service when we told her we seated ourselves.“

“Had a really good breakfast here, everything was tasty and well-prepared. However, the portion sizes were smaller compared to other IHOP locations I’ve been to. The staff was friendly and helpful, but it seemed like there was an issue with the AC because the temperature kept changing, one moment it was fine, and the next it was really hot. On the bright side, my favorite thing at IHOP, the strawberry milkshake, was absolutely delicious as always! Overall, a decent experience, but a few small improvements could make it much better.“

“Alright, let’s dive into my IHOP breakfast saga, where the pancakes were fluffier than my attempts at flirting, but the bacon was drier than my Tinder matches. Those pancakes? Absolute stunners, stacked high and soft as a cloud’s butt, dripping with syrup so good I nearly proposed to them mid-bite. The eggs? Oh, man, they were the MVP of breakfast—sunny-side-up perfection, yolks so runny they could star in a tearjerker flick. I’d give them a standing ovation if my mouth wasn’t full.
The steak tips, though? Holy hell, they were the real headliners. Juicy, tender, and seasoned like they’d been bathed in a spice wizard’s cauldron—better than the pancakes and eggs, which is like saying a superhero outshines a rock star. Those tips were so good I considered writing them into my will.
But then we’ve got the bacon, which was so dry it could’ve been used as a prop in a post-apocalyptic movie. One bite, and I swear it whispered, “I’m basically jerky now, save me.” It crunched like my dreams of ever mastering a TikTok dance. And don’t get me started on the hashbrowns—those were just… meh. Limp, underseasoned, and about as exciting as a tax form. They sat there on the plate like they were auditioning for “Most Forgettable Side Dish” and nailed it. I poked them with my fork, hoping for a miracle, but they just sulked, refusing to crisp up or care.
Thankfully, the service was so stellar it almost made me forget the bacon and hashbrown betrayal. Our server was a breakfast ninja, zipping around with a smile, refilling my coffee before I could even think “caffeine.” She deserves a parade, or at least a lifetime supply of those godly steak tips. IHOP, you’re a rollercoaster—pancakes and eggs had me swooning, steak tips had me writing poetry, but the bacon and hashbrowns need to enroll in flavor school. I’ll be back, probably smuggling my own bacon and a megaphone to cheer for those steak tips. 4/5 stars, because perfection is a myth, but those tips are damn close.“
