If you’re walking around downtown Colorado Springs & stop by JAX, you will not be disappointed. This place not only has a great atmosphere but the best variety of oysters in town (try the crackerjax).Presentation is incredible. The bartender is always nice and you are able to see them preparing the oyster platters along with the drink selection right at the bar.Great happy hour food menu & always something new to try. [check out the lobster deviled egg pictured below]

Great seafood interestingly prepared. Service was superb. The smoked local cocktail was so good that I had another for dessert.Entrees are pricey, understandably because fresh seafood in Colorado isn't easy.Parking: I parked in the county garage because I attended a concert at the Pikes Peak Performing Arts Center. Jax is an easy, 4 minute walk.

Gave Jax another try because a friend really likes it so off we went. The combo oyster plate we got seemed very fresh and was good. They had a full menu going so everything was available. I had the Yellowfin Tuna and it was tasty and my companion had the Lobster roll which she demolished. Drinks were good but feel they are a little small with the giant ice cube in them making them look much larger than they are. I really wish they had an option for a surf and turf since they do have a steak on the menu but would like the option of adding some seafood to it. All in all a good visit and would recommend for the oysters if that's your thing.

Disclaimer: I have never eaten an actual dinner at Jax. I have only gone for their daily happy hour drinks and oysters. That being said, Jax has probably one of the best selections of raw oysters in Colorado Springs. They're fresh and their delicious. I would recommend checking the case before ordering because the happy hour oysters are not always the big plumpy oysters you may be looking for. The happy hour oysters can be a bit on the small side and the difference in price is minimal between the happy hour ones and the biggies you pay full price for.But the real star of the show at Jax is their EXCEPTIONAL customer service! The last two times we were in, we sat at the bar and were helped by John who is a wonderful bartender! He is friendly, he is attentive and he makes wonderful cocktails! My husband loved his mascal margarita for his birthday drink! He, and the rest of the bar staff, make you feel welcome and like you're family coming in for a visit. John even remembered us even though it had been a few months since our last visit. We plan on going into Jax for a full on dinner experience in the future, but being someone who isn't a huge seafood fan, it doesn't always make the list for a night out. I really wanted to give a shout out to John and all the wait staff because they all do an impeccable job of making you feel welcomed and taken care of.

Jax is a gem in downtown. The food and drinks are always great. The staff is awesome and the GM always walks around and talks with guests. Put this in your list!

This is my second time to Jax for a birthday party dinner and it wasn't nearly as good as my first. It was post valentines day and they were totally out of many many items which was not optimal. The management tried to make it right by giving us a couple of coupons for future visits but would have been better to have comped some drinks or something right there and then. Service was very very slow at the beginning till I finally said something. We had to wait for about 30 min between appetizers and putting our order in for food and it wasn't like the place was jammed. The food is okay for what we had and what was available but feel the prices are a tad high for something's like a dozen chargrilled oysters for 44 dollars. We were a table of 7 so got two of them just so everyone could have 2 or 3. That's 88 bucks just in appetizers most of us got the scallops since that was one of the few things available and they were well cooked and delicious and the drinks were on point and well poured but still a little pricey. Some people got burgers since the seafood available wasn't to their liking and one person got the ceaser salad. The burgers were not bad but but the ceaser salad was small for the 18 dollar price tag and a medium plate of fries was 8 dollars. We did also try the gumbo that tasted okay but seemed a little slimy in the mouthfeel and was over smoked in taste. Don't know if I will go again from this experience as there are other places on the block that I have never had issue with given the price tag.

Absolutely amazing food!! We had the Calamari, mussels and caviar as an app. Perfect. East coast oysters, stunning. Shared a lobster roll and lobster Mac and cheese for dinner. Lovely. Service was impeccable. Wasn't too loud, nice and relaxing evening. Definitely will be back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband and I came in for valentine's day. We were never told it was a fixed menu which was very disappointed. First of all the dishes were very small. My husband order the fish it was over cooked, I had the stake which was over cooked as well. The dessert was not a dessert when they bring you a pice of chocolate. And to top it off I order a drink with no alcohol and they brought me one with alcohol. It's bad when you spend $250 and have to stop on your way for food couse your still hungry.

Went in for happy hour at 3:30 for Ash Wednesday. They were not doing HH drink specials/ prices and the HH bar menu had the everyday prices...yes, it more items because it was also Valentine's. Can't recommend. The server was lovely. There is no category for They Upped the prices because it's Valentine's Day.

Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Calamari was delicious but portion a bit skimpy for three people. Mixed reviews on the chowder but lobster roll was great. Raw oysters seem to be the signature dish here but not really my fave. Prices are a bit steep. Would visit again.

Nice looking place, nice servers, but geez don't put things on the menu if they aren't in season. The calamari was good, the bread is served on top of a plate of olive oil instead of separately which is just like what? Ordered the seared tuna which came served in what tasted like a bowl of soy sauce like it was supposed to be a soup or something. Another person ordered their gumbo which seemed to be the only good entree they made for the table. Waste of fish, maybe some pretentious chef back there asking you to pay $45 to try out their gross experiments with their limited ingredients. Again very nice people who work there but not worth the price at all. Maybe it's a seasonal thing but some hero in the kitchen can't make a good menu. Maybe they just need to take some things off their menu.
