We went to Seven Falls on a slow day. ( off peak ) A last minute decision led us to Restaurant 1858. Upon entering we were informed it was by reservation only. The restaurant was less than 25% full. We were told we could be seated outside. A cool breeze was blowing the whole time we were there.? Restaurant never got above 25% occupied. I felt as if we were treated as unworthy.

We made reservations to eat here first lunch after we hike the Seven Falls. The restaurant is wonderfully decorated and surrounded by the beautiful Falls.
After a long and wonderful hike and climb we started off with a nice cold refreshing beer. Followed by the BBQ Shrimp and a side of the Green Chilli and the Red Trout. The Shrimp and Chilli was excellent. The Red Trout was OK, but the sauce did not pair well with the fish.
The waitress was awesome, she was nice and friendly and made our dining experience enjoyable.

We loved Restaurant 1858! It was a great addition to our Seven Falls trip. We ate lunch before we climbed the steps of the falls and hiked to inspiration point. We were shocked by the menu and ambiance. The menu was upscale and the ambiance was so nice, it was decorated so well. I had the trout and it was delicious. We wished we also had time to stay for dinner as the dinner menu looked even better. We would absolutely recommended eating here on your trip to Seven Falls!!
Great experience to done outside by the falls. Trout was perfect and Jessica our server was excellent. It's cool in between rock formations so be sure to have a jacket! A really nice meal in a unique location. I'd do it again!
Love this place. It is so beautiful. Food is good but a bit over priced. They used to have wonderful mashed potatoes and need to bring those back. House wine is $25.00 a glass. So it is a great place but our dinner and drinks for 3 was $400.00 and then you also have to pay to get into the park as well. So almost $500.00.
Great place to people watch and decent views outside depending on your seating. Waitress was nice. Appetizer (fish dip) was surprisingly good but the Mixed Grill (Lamb Chop, Sausage, and Ribs) were terrible. Never had ribs with a bone like crust on the top. Sausage texture was similar to a vegan type meat with a hint of cherry; gross. Lamb chop was cooked well but taste was off. Best part was the bed of green beans the meat sat on. Grits were meh. Salad was good but hard to mess up.
We visited 1858 as a couple and were NOT staying at the Broadmore Hotel. I will say that the food is excellent at the restaraunt and I think the falls and surrounding areas are likely very nice to see but we did not have time to do so. They really treat non-Broadmore guests as second class citizens, especially with regards to the transportation necessary to get to the site. We had to wait for over an hour for a shuttle and a similar time (in the dark) after dinner to get a shuttle back. As a result we were not able to really enjoy (or even see) the falls and surrounding areas. However, guests at the Broadmore got much more direct access with shuttles picking them up directly at the restuarant after dinner with almost no wait. So, while I would like to recommend the restaurant, I would have to suggest you pass on it unless you are staying at the hotel. There are other very good restaurants in the area.
After visiting Seven Falls, we went for a late lunch and had a great experience. Our server, Jessica, was outstanding. Very friendly and personable. Food was bigger portions than expected and very good. Highly recommend the onion rings, super delicious.
Lunch for 3 with one glass of wine and one beer with tip was over $175! My $28 chicken sandwich was dry, but the fries were great. The trout was really good. Overall, not worth the price of the meal especially if you include the service. The atmosphere was great.

I didn't appreciate the 20% service charge added to my bill. The meal was already overpriced. The server told us he only received a small portion of the charge and suggested an additional tip. I'm glad to support staff but I prefer to determine the amount I tip. If management wants more profit they should be honest and raise prices on the menu instead of adding it to the bill.
Food was good, got an appetizer, before we finished the bought out a wonderful chef's creations as a gift, still eating what we had then our main course came out, then our bread service. In and out or what we hoped would be a relaxing 90-120 min. Dinner in 60 minutes.
This was my first trip to seven falls, definitely an experience to remember. Highly recommend. If you are scared of heights be warned. But unfortunately the restaurant was not up to standards for price and quality of the food. They had a special for a wagyu burger $38(which my boyfriend tried), I had a burger $24 from the menu and they tasted exactly the same. No seasoning on the burgers the cheese looked like plastic and the price was ridiculous. The drink menu was more offensive, a margarita or mixed drink were served in the smallest glass for 23 bucks!!!

Was so looking forward to this dining experience. Unfortunately we were disappointed. Menu was different than what we saw when booking and food was just fair at best. For the price the quality of food should have been much better.
For an upscale restaurant situated where it is, the decor is in perfect balance with its surroundings, a style that's both elegant and a touch rustic. The same might be said of the menu. The cuisine is admittedly pricey and the selections are a bit limited, but the quality of the food was very good and the service top notch. My wife and I both had the Colorado Rocky Mountain Red Trout for lunch. For variety's sake, we chose different preparations of the fish. She went with the Western Slope version and I had the Cast Iron Classic. Both were delicious but we agreed hers was better.
