Worst food experience I’ve ever had. Food was cold and might as well have been boiled. I’m not sure what they even did to “prepare” the food given it was brought out cold. We couldn’t eat it.The staff is very nice though which is the only reason I didn’t ask for a refund.

Only eating a 4 instead of a 5 because it was so cold most of the animals were not out, and also the bear habitat was not accessible by foot due to renovations, but we did get to see them from the sky on the lift ride. We were here from Florida on our honeymoon, and this was a nice outdoor activity that was not too expensive.

We learned from the "salty" woman at the ticket booth that "everything in Colorado Springs need reservations." Despite the initial attitude, she sold us the last tickets of the day. We paid $74.25 for 2 adults and 1 child ticket. We had an amazingly fun day. We will visit again next time we are in town, but will remember the reservations! The zoo is about a quarter the size of our San Diego Zoo, but the exhibits were fantastic. The mountaineous back drop was also quite beautiful. We loved how close you can get to the wallabies and that most of the animals were out and about. The best part of this zoo is the raised walkway at the giraffe enclosure. The walkway allowed you to be at eye level with the giraffes. You can also purchase a bundle of lettuce for either $3 or $5 to feed them then pet them. Inexpensive for such an experience. Pathways in the zoo didn't loop around. The way you went to see an exhibit, is the same way you get out. Some walkways were narrower so some parts felt cramped. We also thought the signage around the park could have been more prominent and clear.

best layout in the country. You cannot see animals this up close at any zoo. Its better to get an annual pass

A super fun experience for my 2 yr old ! The zoo is really well kept and I loved that it's in the mountains so the views were beautiful. My daughter got to feed giraffes and birds, and then even saw the wallabies cross up close. Even tho it was snowy and very cold we still managed to see everything and have a ton of fun

This is an amazing zoo! It doesn't make you feel like the animals are in the tiny little cage. There's lots of food options, and great alternatives to just walking through a basic zoo.

This place is beautiful. It might be my favorite zoo in the world. The hills can be tough but the view and the animals are stunning. Holiday lights are also truly breath taking.

Great fun and lots of interaction for the kids. It's on a mountainside so get ready to walk some but it was definitely a great trip. Hand feeding giraffes was the highligh

View: A+ spectacular. Worth it for the view.Atmosphere: happy/friendly.Menu: very small. 3 meats. Brisket, pork, chicken wings. But sometimes focus on less is good.Price: a little pricey.Food: pretty good. Not great. I tried the brisket with pickled okra. Never had pickled okra before. It was good. The brisket was overall good some bites were a little dry.Beer is available.

Food here is pretty terrible. We got the burnt ends which were hard and over half the pieces were pure fat. We also go the pulled pork. Both meats were so salty they were inedible. We could only eat a few bites it was so bad. Using the bbq sauce helped us down a few bites but that’s all we could handle. The corn bread was not great either and very dry. The sides were the only decent food we received. Over priced for inedible food.

Very nice zoo in the Colorado Springs area. Tickets are online only and you get an arrival window. Parking lot was easy to navigate and plenty of space. Easy to walk around and leave yourself a minimum of three hours. More if you want to take advantage of additional benefits included in your ticket price.

I was at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo for a work event. The animals and areas I saw were wonderful. I truly enjoyed the food! The Executive Chef and Staff truly put out the red carpet with the menu selections. This was not what most people would expect to eat at a Zoo! I look forward to visiting again. I added a FEW pictures to wet your appetite. Biscuits and Lamb Sausage Gravy, Chicken & Waffle Skewers, Candied Bacon, Mini Quiche, Bread Pudding French Toast (with toppings). And if you visit don't miss having coffee and visiting the gift shop. #stlmetrofoodie

Had such a blast on this excursion! Bestie and I went made our reservation for 1300 and we're in the gate by 1330 as stated necessary on the website. We were advised to ride the gondola up, then walk down the zoo from the gondola. Unfortunately, we rode up and then we were informed that we cannot walk down the zoo, but instead take the gondola back down and then explore the zoo. God ola ride still worth the $5. In honesty, this zoo doesn't have tons of animals and it doesn't have lots of kid excursions, but the animal exhibits that they do have are phenomenal and the animals to view are extremely well kept. Most importantly, the scenic mountain views make it the most unique zoo experience that I've been to.

How do I say this is the best Zoo be been to without sounding like I'm exaggerating? Granted I've only been to 4/5 of them but wow was I impressed with this one. Although it wasn't as expansive as the San Diego zoo, the CMZ was so interactive and the overall ambiance on the by e day was very adventurous! It got busy and there is a capacity limit so show up early or buy tickets in advance, if possible. Lots of mountains to walk through between exhibits so bring your comfy shoes. My first impression was that the Giraffe habitat was so large and winding, I didn't know when it would end! Very easy to feed and interact with the giraffes that I even had the large bull tap me on my shoulder unexpectedly! There is public access into some of the interior and maintenance portions of the habitats which is great for learning, even for the curious adults. My nephew made a list of all the baby animals (which there were plenty) and the ones he got to actually pet (giraffe, and wallabies). The penguins were even out and about pecking at passing strollers. I would definitely come back and I recommend this experience to anyone visiting Colorado Springs. Fantastic day.

Amazing zoo! This place is incredible- from up close and personal encounters with animals to friendly and knowledgeable staff - we will definitely be returning! Feeding an elephant and the giraffes was the highlight! Such a cool experience and so fun for kids! All of the other animals were quite active in their enclosures which was neat to see. The tiger spent lots of time by the glass and the mountain lions and grizzly bears were walking all around...maybe waiting for feeding time? We'd never been to a zoo and seen so many active animals. There is a big kids play area too - so if you have little ones that need an open space to run keep your eye out for that area. As others have mentioned, there are some inclines as you walk around so be prepared! The facilities are nice and clean with several easy to find restrooms and plenty of restaurants to choose from.
