I was disappointed with tamales 🫔 at Christmas time. They fell apart and didn’t have a lot of filling. Then last time my family came the carne asada tacos were bland and not as tasty as I hoped. We’ve tried a few time here and have been disappointed. Was hoping for more but unfortunately won’t be coming back.

Great food and market! Despite that, this place now closes its dining area at 6pm??! They already close at 7 which is crazy early. How can anyone who works a 9-5 get in here to eat???! I guess I won't anymore due to that.

Unfortunately I have to rewrite this review.
Ordered tamales and they were not ready when I came to pick them up. Waited over a hour to get them. Even though I called to confirm an hour before I got there too. Then they slapped them together, so they fell apart when I opened up the bag. They must have just made them because they were hot when they put them in plastic bags The heat caused them to melt the plastic and get all over the tamales. 🫔 Paid quite a bit for them so was disappointed in their appearance. Also, they were not filled up with that much meat. Was completely bummed. ☹️

Tight spaces. If I had to bring my walker in today would have been extremely tight. Hard to find bc of construction and online directions was not clear the first time. Staff very helpful and nice. Was very clean including bathrooms. Guacamole and the Horchata was awesome. Menudo was very clean. In my opinion needed a bit more flavor. First time but busy and they were fast, friendly, and efficient. Definitely going back!

food here is terrible and the prices in the market are very bad. I'm Mexican and speak Spanish, I heard the staff talking bad about a couple white and Black people in the store.

This was our second time to Sonora's Prime. The first time was in Falcon and now we went to the Barnes location. The food was just as great and now we have yet another local restaurant we can support. We always mean to check out the other goods there but by the time we are done we are stuffed! I highly recommend going if you want some delicious food!

Vegetarian options: My wife is mostly vegetarian and it was easy for her to order here.

Parking: Currently the parking lot is being redone so you have to park behind the restaurant but it's not far from the front door.

Kid-friendliness: My 13-year old son has choices here and he's a picky eater!

The most mexican place in Colorado Springs. This place deserves 5/5 stars all the way. The food is rich with flavor, the portions are big and the staff is wonderful. I can't wait to go again. Heads up, they have a small salsa bar but the food is terrific even without it.
