This review is by someone who has tasted and tried many variations of food.

Today I tried Sushi Rakkyo, I have been here in the past(years ago), but it was forgettable.

Today, my wife wanted something nearby after moving, so we went.

I ordered the teriyaki entree with shrimp dumplings. To drink, I ordered iced green tea.

My wife ordered a spicy chicken plate and heart attack roll.

The teriyaki chicken was very good and had plenty of chicken. Miso soup was good, but kinda standard. The shrimp dumplings were good, but not spectacular.

My wife’s food was great and also had plenty of meat. Many other places I have been, like to skimp on meat, but not here.

The green tea was the best I ever had. It had a very earthy flavor. My wife’s food even drank half of my 1st and second (refill) of it.

I had a good experience today and look forward to coming back!

I have pictures, but have to remember how to add them.

What used to be one of my favorite AYCE sushi spots has unfortunately become pretty mid. Came in with my kiddos for lunch, and spent $50 for a pretty mediocre meal. I have a 7 and 2 year old and our bill was $50. That’s on the high-end for a lunch special and the quality that came out. The nigiri has massive pieces of rice with a small sampling of fish on top, the quality of the fish is not very good, the edamame wasn’t salted or hot, and the fried roll I got came out cold (which doesn’t make sense with it being fried). I was unimpressed and likely will stick with Sushi Spot.

Stopped in for the all you can eat sushi. We hadn't eaten much that day and definitely brought our appetite. Portions were better on the first round of shusi rolls. Second round we got the same sushi roll and it was much bigger than the first. Not sure why, but it was still really good. We finished all that was brought to the table. They will charge you for each item you order if you don't finish. We had multiple people checking in on us, which was good. However, a few of the wait staff was not friendly and we seemed to be a bother, while the other staff was friendly and chatty.

The all you can eat menu is great. They have an interesting way to prevent food waste, everything you order and don't eat you get charged for. So remember to order in small batches.

Worst sushi I've ever had.
Really craving sushi since we haven't had in about a year since my wife became pregnant. We were very excited! Lived in Denver metro previously so went to sushi katsu for AYCE in past.

This place.... Terrible.... Just plain bad. Nigiri was 90% rice. Rice AND fish both tastes super stale and dry. It was all very hard to chew. They have PILES of fish at the sushi counter, feels like it was sliced ages ago and not stored properly.

Had a lot of rice left over and our waiter noted the sign. We let them know it was terrible and way too much rice.

Service was poor too. Won't go back. Looking at other recent reviews, this is a common theme. I'll drive to Denver next time for sushi. First time I've ever gotten sick from eating sushi.

Not recommended. Food isn't good. The rice tastes like plastic. The waiter didn't refill the water and kept bugging us that we are supposed to eat the rice or else they will charge 10 dollars for leftovers

Stopped in for lunch today after hearing good things about this spot. I got the AYCE sushi and for $23 dollars it has to be the best deal in the springs! Good rolls, selection, and service. Think this is our new sushi go to spot!

Great spot in a nice area of town. Was really excited about taking my kiddos to sushi, but was a little bummed that everything is on a bed of rice.

The food was excellent, but one of the waiters was rude. The waiter asked me if “the other person explained the rules to me” and to “know my limits” when he saw how much food I ordered, referring to the getting charged if you leave leftovers rule.
Little did he know, I KNOW my limits and didn’t leave a single piece behind 😏

The rice tasted old and the fish was definitely not fresh. My son even got hives after going to this restaurant. Would not recommend

Not worth it. Service was poor, the rice tasted as if it were made a couple days ago, and we had to ask multiple times for several things. We also never got checked on. The sushi wasn’t the best either—there are definitely much better places out there.

We got sushi to go, we only live about 5 minutes from the place. The sushi was falling apart and not a single roll would keep together. It also just didnt seem particularly fresh. I don't think the 5 minute drive to our apartment could cause the sushi to completely deteriorate.
