We visited the Fifty-Niner for the first time this weekend. It was honestly disappointing. It was very dark and very cold. It was hard to see the games because it was so dark and the game selection was limited. I ordered the hot chocolate and the cheese board. The cheese board is pricy but worth it. Everything on it was delicious. The hot chocolate tasted like chocolate water and was not great. The service was ok. The waitress was attentive and nice. I doubt we will be back but...
Bummer that they allow children in a speakeasy style bar, with sticky hands all over the games, bumping into tables and spilling drinks. Really feel like this BAR would be more successful as an actual bar, rather then allowing small children in, especially after 9pm on a Saturday. Particularly disappointing when you spend a significant amount of money on games in their store, have a reservation to play, and then can't play the game.
This place was pretty cool. There were only 2 other groups there so I can't speak to when it is busy.... drinks were good but a little pricey. I was disappointed in their game selection, but there were a few classics in there we had fun with. Didn't get food but I would probably eat before hand again if we went again. I would also probably bring my own game too lol.
