Great! Under new management. They were super nice and offered me a cold soda because my food was not ready (I was early). Good food, funky injera with tef, yummy stuff. Lots of leftovers. Cute interior although I got take out :)

Tik-tok made me try it. My first time trying African food and all i wanted was so fu-fu. Food was great but i had heartburn for several hours later. It was worth it tho. Checked off my bucket list 😊

Took forever despite being the only people in the restaurant, food came out cold and not very flavorful, lady was very nice so it was hard to complain about it, but the price hurt.

We were served rotten, stale food that wasn’t even warmed. The lamb awaze was actually dry, lukewarm and rubbery. Several lentil dishes were cool to the touch and spoiled. Go somewhere else for quality care and quality food.

Yikes. I hate leaving negative reviews but there is no choice here. I am leaving this review to protect another potential customer from becoming extremely ill. I entered and it was a drab environment and I was the only customer. I visited yesterday at 4 pm. Upon arrival I was brought a water with a lemon (which was molded). I said ok I just won't drink the water. Well I ordered the vegetarian combo. It was delicious. I left and woke up today and am violently ill. Throwing up the entire day unable to leave my house. I called the restaurant and informed them so they can rectify the situation and stop it from happening to someone else. Their response was "I'm sorry this happened it's never happened before". I haven't ever been so ill from food poisoning in years. And no I didn't eat anything else yesterday this IS the culprit. No question.

Great food, Great staff, always professional, and always happy to serve you. Prices are fair, place is up to date. Not once was there a frown on the face of a customer thank you. Update: It was a hard thing for me to leave such a great place. 10 years above this cafe and other then cosmically the Service, owners, Tess & Management put their everything in this Gem on E/ Colfax.. Please people I'm not an employee or family I'm like you. Customer who loves the Africana Cafe. Not just for the food but for the atmosphere and the employees come visit you will not be disappointed. ??

Just when I thought Queen of Sheba was the only good Ethiopian in Denver. The sambusa was the best I’ve ever had. Large and spacey interior makes it great for large groups too. Will be back!
