Came in to eat dinner and was told it’s open seating and I could sit anywhere. You scan a QR code on the table to order and have to put your payment info in immediately.
After I scanned and ordered, I was asked to move down a few seats for a large party. No problem, I moved. But then my drink was taken to the other party (with the QR code I ordered from), luckily the party declined my drink and I flagged the food runner down, and got my soda. I then explained to the host who moved me, I had already ordered, and now my order is going to the wrong people. She said it wouldn’t be a problem and walked away. About 30 minutes later I still hadn’t received any food - even after asking multiple food runners about it.
I was offered other peoples food many times as runners walked around. Despite their QR code system it appears the runners just walk around until someone claims the food they are carrying.
After I asked the third food runner about my food, they realized my food had been taken to the other party.
There was no apology or attempt to make it right, I was told they would fire my food immediately. After waiting 15 more minutes and not receiving my food (an appetizer mind you) I just wanted to leave. I then had to flag another person down to remove the food I never received off my bill. Again, no apology was made.
There are no servers here, so you get no real service. Despite that, you are prompted tip, with preselected tip options of 20%, 25% and 28%. I’m not sure what part of the “sit anywhere, order on your phone, watch the food runners like a hawk to ensure they don’t drop you food off somewhere else” process is worthy of over a 20% tip.
It appears this place pays to remove negative reviews. So I am sure they will do the same with this.

Walked straight into Bao upstairs, the tea room vibe is sooo sexy and intimate. Sat right at the bar and MJ immediately took care of us with a sake flight that was genuinely interesting (and fun, not intimidating). We did the veggie spring rolls, and she walked us through all the sauces like a pro.
Such a perfect spot to pop into before a Nuggets game or honestly just because. Love that it’s locally owned, small business, and actually feels authentic. Cool, friendly, elevated without being pretentious. No overpriced Denver bs, just great vibes, great drinks, and an easy, fun time. Everyone needs to come here.

Beautiful tea room upstairs. We ate lunch in the bar area. You order from your phone. Staff bring food and drinks but no service other than that.

Jan 24, 2024 got to see the Washington Capitals vs Colorado Avalanche. Went to Bao Brewhouse prior for dinner with Ash and had great food, then stopped for a drink at Tivoli Brewery before heading to the game. Got to wear my new Stewie 2 Ruby!
Skylar, Taylor, and all the service was wonderful.

One of THE best places to go in Denver that captures the city’s vibe in a historic building. Very sensitive to dietary restrictions and making sure everything is quality.
Upstairs for a more traditional elevated dining experience, downstairs for vibes and a communal dining experience.

Bao Brewhouse is an absolute gem in Denver. The vibes are on point, the food is insanely good, and the staff made everything feel easy and welcoming. The bao was fluffy and packed with flavor, and the drinks were super solid too. Perfect spot for a date night or bringing friends when you want to impress. Five stars all day, I’ll be back soon.

Was a busy Friday night so the service was definitely poor and a bit noisy. Not a lot of vegetarian options. Food was decent.
My son decided to have his 18th bday here. Michael was our server and he was absolutely amazing. He took such great care of us and made sure my son had an amazing dinner. Thanks Michael. -Danielle

Shows they close at 10:30pm. Called at 8:05 to ask if there was a wait for tables since Google Maps showed it was busier than normal - apparently not. Walked 10 blocks to get there at 8:30 and told they already had last call. I understand if it’s not busy to close early, but 8:30pm? Can’t leave a review for the food or service since I couldn’t stay.

This was our first visit to Bao Brewhouse and overall it was nice. Food taste was very good. Service was good, atmosphere was loud but visually appealing, we did have to wait a while for our dumplings the real downside was the cost of everything. $10 for a teapot of tea is out of this girls budget and fried rice should not cost $30. Probably won't be back due to cost the total bill was $200 and did not believe it was worth that cost. My husband did have an old fashioned and a sake but my son and I only had tea.
No one checked in on us while dining. When we needed something we had to try and flag down one of the food runners. Had to ask about one of our food orders that was missing. Food was good, but not worth the money.
Highly recommend you make a reservation for a dinner upstairs.
Good music, solid tea selection, incredible sharable style dinner experience.
Never disappoints.

We had theatre tickets and went to Bao Brewhouse due to its close location to DCPA. It is a great addition to the Denver food scene. Very colorful decor and feels very authentic. We went during the Broncos game, so the energy level was high. Cocktails are delicious and well crafted. The menu is pretty diverse and we ordered a range of Dim Sum and one entre to share. Food is served family style. Service was a bit slow, but I do think it was because the game was ending and it was Saturday night. I'm looking forward to our next visit!
Our first and last visit... we're fortunate to benefits from lots of great Denver dining options. Great overall vibe @ Bao. We didn't see a hostess at the entrance, so headed upstairs to the Tea Room and the staff found us our reserved table. Britney, our server, eventually got our drink order and wanted us to order our meal immediately. Given our first visit, we needed more time and Britney couldn't be more bothered -- we eventually got a food runner to take our order. The menu was interested and food was excellent. Appears to be a "hit or miss" place.
