This is a little gem of fine dining. Unique and flavorful, interesting and sophisticated. If you are looking for a unique dining experience that is quality across all the courses served, this is it. We also did the wine pairing and it the wines complimented the food very well. It was a truly wonderful dining experience and we will go back again.

Amazing experience made possible by one man show Jon. Can't believe we didn't know about this gem until now. Will definitely be back!

Food & Service was excellent. Highly recommend Bistro Barbes. Jonathan was a great host. Great wine pairing options and the wine list has excellent choices too!

Came on a Friday at 6 and we were the only ones at the restaurant for an hour, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant is located at the corner of the building, before you get to the busier areas, making it quiet and easier to find a parking. There was only one employee when we were there - working as a host, chef, server, sommelier, and cashier. You won’t believe how good he is at it. I never felt any part of the experience suffered at all. All the food we had was very good. One small complaint from me is the dessert - it was a tad too sweet, but that’s just me - I like my dessert on the less sweet side than average.

We enjoyed our meal. The food was nicely prepared and the sweet pea agnolotti was especially good. Chef/owner Jon was friendly and attentive.

My wife and I have been here three times before and it has become our favorite restaurant in the entire Denver area. We’re going again tonight for our 32nd anniversary and we can’t wait!

The food is unfailingly amazing. The blend of modern French with North African and Middle Eastern flavors blow my mind every time because Jon’s execution is so good. We moved from the NYC area to Colorado a few years ago and agree that Bistro Barbes is the only thing we’ve found that matches the quality of our favorites in NYC (including several places with Michelin Stars).

This is a place for special occasions. In our case it was our 59th wedding anniversary. It's an expensive meal, no doubt about it. But it's worth it - for that special occasion. Each course was excellent, the service was great, it was quiet enough that we could have a conversation. The space is nothing special, but it was clean. Nice table linens and eating utensils. I rated it down for value because it's too expensive to go to frequently. We'll go back, but only when the occasion is really special.

11/10 experience, John made an amazing menu and paired the perfect wine with each course. I have lived in Denver my whole life and this is easily the best food I have had here. Highly recommend to everyone.

John is so cool and has created an incredible menu. The food was not only fantastic, but the presentation was top notch. Such a cool experience getting to talk to him and hear about his menu and experience.

This restaurant is such a gem. What a dining experience! You won't find food like this anywhere else in Denver. Choose the wine pairings to complete the experience.

This is almost an experimental restaurant. There was a chef who was the waiter, greeter, preparer etc. The food, service, and ambiance were spectacular. It was tasting menu, no choices, i.e., varied menu BUT everything was amazing. The chef trained in a Paris Michelin 3 star and the food was that good. Wine pairings were expert! We were 1 of 3 couples, there are few tables, maybe 12, so the dining experience is always intimate. This isn't for everyone, but what a great dining experience.
