The catfish and mac n cheese were great, I didn’t like the yams, they weren’t sweet, tasted like cinnamon with a hint of sugar and vanilla. Staff were attentive, it was a 30-45 minute wait for the food. Overall I would return again.

Just a little hole in the wall place with dine in seating and a full bar. A few Tvs on the wall for you sports fans, and high top seating in the middle with booths along the wall. The menu is centered around chicken as you might expect, but they have oxtails and smothered pork chops too. As a true southerner, I view any soul food establishment that doesn't serve brewed sweet tea as not authentic. They don't brew tea, enough said. Aside from that, the food was very good. At times it felt like a sports bar, and became a bit loud. I wouldn't recommend it for first dates or an intimate experience, but if you just want to fill your belly with good food, it fits the bill.

I ordered chicken with black eyed peas and okra and a hot link meal with potato salad. I received chicken, okra and two soggy, cold pieces of white bread. Nothing else (no hot link or sides)
The customer service is outstanding. Very delicious food and a nice clean environment

I come here because the food has always been good! I hate that black businesses get associated with terrible customer service all the time! Not sure what the one lady’s issue is but this business could be amazing and customer service alone will tear it down. I will continue to support because I love to support our people. I hope you guys read the reviews and thrive to do better. That’s all the community wants to see.

Only thing good about this place is the chicken. I’m from Florida I know good soul food. Shell macaroni ain’t it. Yams had more juice than yams. Peach cobbler had three peaches and ton of pie crust from king soopers wasn’t even heated up. I hate people always hype up stuff that’s average. Drove 25 minutes cross town paid 30 bucks . For something I could’ve got from Popeyes for 20. The prices should at least match the services. Sliced bread in a ziplock bag? 35 minute wait for chicken shell Mac and cheese and yams. Plus a cold dessert? Nah I’m good. The owner was very polite, the guy at the door clearly has a miserable life, place is very out dated. I hurts me to leave this review because I try to support black business but I have to give my honest opinion people work too hard for they money. I wanted the smothered pork chops but I was told they couldn’t unsmother the pork chops. That was the first red flag, should’ve followed my first mind and left then.

I waited 45 minutes for a chicken sandwich and fries to go.
Looked into the kitchen and the workers were on their phone scrolling through text and social media. They need to work on their service.

The service was terrible the lady on the phone sounded like she had an attitude because I couldn't hear her with all the background noise, they said the food would be ready in 20-30 ended up taking almost an hour for 12 wings. While they were fried well there wasn't enough sauce and the Buffalo was salty. The Carolina gold wings tasted old and inedible

Took 45 minutes for a to go order, absolutely no customer service and the food wasn't even that good. "Soul food" is not accurate. There's no soul in this food, ive had better fried chicken from a bodega and the mac and cheese is cheap box stuff clearly

The food that I had was good.
The prices were reasonable.
I had a shot of whiskey with my dinner. But I didn't like the fact that the bartender put ice in it 🤷
Dietary restrictions: If you are on a diet this is probably not a good place to go. This is down home

I will be back. Overall good lunch!
We spent $65 + tip for 3 people. Got two Catfish dinners with greens, Mac and cheese and fries, the Salmon croquettes with greens as well. The catfish are good size pieces, the Mac and cheese was creamy, not wet and had a little bit of pepper. Greens are good, made with turkey. We would have liked the croquettes more firm and cooked more.
Support small businesses!

Excellent in SO many ways but for the excess salt in many dishes. If only one could unsalt a dish as easily as one could salt.
I wished I had asked for gravy on the side.
