Food - very underwhelming to be honest. Italian sausage pizza was quite bland. Dough was nice, soft and airy, but everything else was lacking in it. My colleagues said the same about her lasagna.Service - again underwhelming unfortunately. Waited a solid 10 minutes to be greeted by the server, wasn't overly friendly and hospitable.Atmosphere - now this part was great. Loved the open kitchen in the middle. Felt very warm. Not a big fan of leaving bad reviews, but I just personally thought this place was a bit overrated on here, thats all

Cattivella is hands down the best restaurant in Denver. It is my go-to every time I’m in town from Chicago and I can’t say enough amazing things about the ambiance, food and cocktails. The staff is top notch — Ben is an amazing server and we love having him take care of us when we’re there. The owner and chef does such an amazing job being visible, mentoring her team and sending out top notch food. They have the best happy hour in the country — all night on Mondays and 5-6 p.m. other nights. They have regular menu items on their happy hour and these are some of the top menu items! Thanks Ben and the rest of the team for always making our visits perfect!

Had the most amazing time enjoying the food and meeting new people at an event in Cativella! Would definitely recommend this location for any and all event needs.

Great food, subpar service, and we were seated way back in a corner with half of our table sticking in the doorway. We went during restaurant week which may have been the problem but for the price we paid, I was disappointed. We want to try it again but may go at a less busier time.

We went out in response to a funny email from the restaurant about "Snowmageddon" (anticipated storm in Denver). We had the specials: Spinach salad, Elk Bolognese (on gluten-free noodles), and Pizza with several cheeses. All dishes were delicious, with plenty of leftovers for a stormy day. Our server was delightful, and it is always fun watching Chef Elise Wiggins work behind the counter!

Want a top notch high end meal. This small and beautiful place is it. Make sure to make a reservation, it's that popular and worth it.

We went for restaurant week and the portions were VERY small, I had the short ribs and it was very good but my husband had the baked pasta and it was very bland, such small portions was very disappointing!

Salumi Calabrese Pizza was awesome (got takeout). I got it at the busiest time of the week; wished I could sit at the bar because the restaurant had an energetic vibe. I had some trouble with their phone. Turns out it was an external vendor that wasn't doing their job, but it's been fixed.

Made reservation for restaurant week. Was seated at the counter at the complete and of the kitchen-saw shrimp deveining, etc...-Yuck! Disinterested server, very slow. Brought out main dish and forgot salad-took food back and put under warmer. After salad, brought the main course and was luke warm at best. Ordered wine and was brought 30 minutes later. Taste of food OK, but not worth the long drive, terrible service or the decision to ever place patrons so near the dungeon part of the kitchen. Not impressed and I think servers hate restaurant week!!!

Went for restaurant week but ordered off main menu. Choices limited. Mostly pasta or pizza products which have higher profit margin than meat or fish. Fish unavailable. Server not very attentive. Had to go out of my way to go there. Probably will not return

Our first course was cold, but it should've been hot. We were rushed through service as our courses kept coming out when we weren't even halfway through the one before. Culminating in our last dessert course coming out in the beginning of our main course so by the time we ate it, the ice cream on my lava cake was a sloppy mess

The food is always good!! Our service was supppppperrrrr slow. We got our appetizers before our bottle of wine. I ordered a second glass of wine as our dinner came out and don't get it until I was done with my meal. We had to keep asking him for things as he walked by rather than him stopping.

Re: Cattivella's (Not so) Happy Hour; Their lamb ragu and rabbit gnocchi are two outstanding dishes. No question about it. But their HH price of $14 considering the reduced portion size, is almost insulting.Their little 7" pizzas ($14-$15) are disappointing not only for the price, but they use so little sauce on their pizzas, it is impossible to discern if they use any at all. Knowing this, we asked for extra sauce and were informed that would be an extra price! Just For sauce, really. Who knew that buying industrial quantities of tomato sauce had increased in price so much...And the toppings? Order a sausage pizza and they bring out a pizza with a few sausage crumbles. Regardless of what pizza we have ordered the past few months, they are totally tasteless. Also, they no longer cook their pizzas until they are done. The pizzas are thin, real thin, but the crusts have been soft and doughy. Blech. But the worst is their (minimal) HH alcohol menu. 1/2 glass of red wine for $9! Nine dollars for 1/2 glass of wine for HH! THat is rude, in our opinion. So, we have decided to walk 20 feet to the west and do our HH at Los Chingones. They don't have the lamb ragu there, but one can sure save a lot of hard-earned money but going elsewhere than Cattivilla's.
