Pretty quiet for a Thursday night- arrived at 5:30, left around 7:30 and it was half full. All the flavors and preparations were good, but not quite what we expected-- family style servings mean that all the plates tend to be 'chopped up', something you can spoon onto your own plate without much cutting. So, beef or pork, or even beets in the beet salad(quite good BTW) are pre-cut. The menu wasn't extensive, and seems more vegetarian friendly than omnivore-friendly,...
Cholon is the perfect place to orchestrate a phenomenal tasting menu of your choice. I would recommend: Soup dumplings and won tons to start-crazy complex flavors Then have potstickers with killer ginger sauce Must have Bao- the soft shell crab is fantastic and the standbys of tofu and pork are as well Finish with delectable mains-eggplant, noodles, pork Just a great restaurant
Cho Lon at Sloans Lake provided an excellent setting for our anniversary. Starting the night with a little bubbles set the mood for a relaxing evening. We enjoyed a new small dish and savored some favorites. Thank you to all the staff for another fascinating dinner, see you again soon!
