Cucina Colore has been our go-to neighborhood restaurant. The food is delicious and the waitstaff is always kind and attentive.

However, our recent experience was disappointing. We asked to sit in the same patio where we had enjoyed a previous meal — a quiet, empty space — but the hostess refused without a clear explanation. She simply said they were short-staffed, even though the area we requested was just as empty as the one we were taken to.

We felt dismissed, as if our comfort and preference didn’t matter.
We’ll return for the food and the servers, but the front-of-house experience needs improvement. How you’re welcomed truly sets the tone.

The service was great, but sadly the food wasn’t. I tried the burrata, and it was dehydrated with no flavor at all. I ordered the tortelloni, which was very simple. The pasta was cooked ‘al dente,’ but I personally prefer it fully cooked—perhaps it would help to ask guests about their preference. Overall, the experience was okay, but the food was disappointing.

A Cherry Creek institution. Always worth a visit. Love that they use Polidori sausage in their pastas and pizzas. You can’t go wrong with any dish. Start with the calamari or burrata.
Anthony is the loveliest server!

I ate here twice while staying in Cherry Creek. I had pizza, calamari, pasta with sausage and peppers, forget what it was called, ALL EXCELLENT!!! I highly recommend this Italian restaurant! Red gravy (as we call it in New Orleans) was fabulous!🤤

If you’ve never been a huge fan of Italian food, take it from me—Cucina Colore in Cherry Creek completely changed my mind. Family-owned and operated since 1994 by Venanzio Momo—who grew up working in his mother’s Italian deli and brought a wood-fired pizza tradition from New York—this neighborhood trattoria feels timeless yet fresh .

Today for lunch:
• I had the gnocchi — perfectly cooked, rich, and flavorful.
• My wife the chicken sandwich, juicy and satisfying.
• My son devoured a pepperoni pizza (made in that original hearth oven tradition).
• My niece loved her pasta, which tasted fresh and expertly balanced. Everything was delightfully made with fresh, high‑quality ingredients and a focus on true flavor—not gimmicks .

But the real showstopper? The bread pudding for dessert—next level. Rich, warm, comforting, and the perfect end to lunch.

From the warm, upscale-yet-approachable ambiance to attentive service and a seasonal menu that honors both classics and innovation, Cucina Colore is a spot I’ll absolutely come back to—even though I wasn’t initially an Italian food fan.

Located at 3041 E 3rd Ave in Cherry Creek North, open daily with full lunch and dinner service

Lilly bartender ranks as the worst server I have had. I’ve enjoyed Cucina Colore for over twenty years, as it’s my neighborhood go to restaurant. Expect diner level service as she ignores you for as long as she can. Then slams down a menu without making eye contact nor saying hello. She made clear she didn’t want to wait on me as I pointed out the dirty glass which she repoured then set down with no apology, eye contact, smile. All attitude. So I chose to leave. Will take my business elsewhere.

Their service is always over the top, love seafood, Cioppino is my favorite dish and their calamari appetizer is incredible. This is by far my favorite italian restaurant in town.

Disappointing Experience Despite Great Location

I had very high expectations for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to them. We arrived for dinner, and it took over 40 minutes just to be served two glasses of wine. That delay alone was frustrating enough to dampen the evening. I called for the manager, who did apologize, but ultimately did nothing to make up for the long wait — the wine simply arrived after the apology.

The food was good, but far from exceptional. Certainly not memorable, and not at all aligned with the elevated pricing. For the cost, I expected a much higher level of service and culinary quality.

That said, the location and parking are excellent, which is one of the few strong points. Unfortunately, due to the overall lack of value and service, I will not be returning.

Just an all-around wonderful dining experience. The pastas are magnificent and you can’t go wrong with the tiramisu.

We had some time to kill, so we wanted a place to sit outside and have a drink. We did not expect such a wonderful experience. From the beginning, the service stands out as superb: attentive, welcoming, friendly and unobtrusive. Taylor, our waitress, is a delight: endearing and charming… we never had to ask for a refill as our water was never empty, but we hardly realized that she had filled the glasses. The food was great. We had calamari: well seasoned, crispy and tender. The Calabrian chili aioli is fantastic and, while the marinara for dipping is very good, for my money’s worth next time I’ll just ask for a cup of the aioli and dip away. We then had the farfalle with Italian sausage in a cream sauce. You’d think that would be a heavy dish, but it is actually light! Save room for dessert! Specifically, their peach bread pudding. I will come out and admit I am NOT a bread pudding fan… they are either dry/lackluster or, worse, mushy and custardy, which I find very unappealing. This one, however, was moist, but firm… just right level of sweetness… ohhhh, and the caramel sauce… bask in it! Cheers!
