Le Bilboquet was a very pleasant surprise. I usually never venture out of downtown Denver but I’m glad I did for Bilboquet. The food was excellent and so was the service. The location was also great. We started with the foie gras. Excellent. I ordered the steak frites. it was tender and delicious. My friends ordered the bass and the veal. All of it was great. The wine selection as excellent. All and all it was a great experience.
Nice experience but nothing over the top. I had the veal and it was good but again nothing special. Our server was rather inattentive but when he was there he was great. Slower pace of food made a long wait between courses. Beautiful space, though.
The 2 course prefix menu appeared to be a good choice. The mushroom risotto was tasty, but the steak Panini was not at all what I expected. It was slathered in both ketchup & mayo, held minimal cool meat & it wasn't pressed... you know, like a Panini is supposed to be, and was on more of a baguette than tastier ciabatta or focaccia.
The waiter was polite, helpful & efficient.
It wasn't noisy, which allowed the 3 of us to converse with ease.
