Although the place was loud and the service (well, our server at least) was haughty, we would go back to El Jefe for the food, which was good. The preparations were interesting, portions ample, and made with quality ingredients. That perhaps justifies the prices, but they none the less feel high, especially given the inattentive service. 4 out of 5 stars feels about right.
My family and I go to El Jefe every chance we get! Have ordered a variety of dishes and loved every one of them!
Excellent experience - Greta wait staff, food and setting! Also great bottomless mimosas!! Thank you!
We've dined here several times. Always great service and food. Our only complaint is we've had to wear jackets throughout the entire evening. Doesn't appear to be any certain area just overall temperature.
Food was fantastic and people so friendly - what a local neighborhood gem. We had the Mole and Mahi, both were amazing and even better ... were delivered by the owner. What a place and have to say that we will be back very soon.
Food and service is always incredible and there are great deals on Taco Tuesday! My favorite spot in the neighborhood!!
Always 12/10, this is the only restaurant I enjoy fish tacos and order them every time. If you're looking for good food, good service and a delicious marg - El Jefe's got you! Highly recommended
El Jefé is one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. The waitstaff was outstanding, suggesting menu items and describing our choices. The food was exceptional and presented very well.
The place is casual, but the chef is serious about delicious, authentic Mexican food. Nothing is "precious", just wonderful and unpretentious. The cod fish tacos are fantastic, huge pieces of flaky cod to eat with a ford :-) The pinto beans on the side were perfectly seasoned. Also, do not miss the chips with salsa trio or the street corn.
The food was delicious and came out quickly. It looked like they were mid menu change for the seasons, which is totally valid, but some items were not available because of seasonality. Regardless, the food that we ordered was delicious and they were very accommodating of the food allergies at our table. We hadn't been to El jefe since they opened and will definitely be back soon.

The food and service was ten star! Decided to venture out of our neighborhood and try something new and found a new favorite.
Had the most wonderful brunch here! Great food, incredibly hospitality, and without the turn and burn of a regular brunch spot. Cannot recommend highly enough!
