People are sleeping on this spot so it was a treat to get in before the hype hits. Michelin food without the stars.....yet!
Came for El pastor tacos. Never disappointed

Meals and experience were absolutely fantastic but we had a few hiccups with our server Marco with a slow start & hiccups with our check out. The queso and crab nachos were delicious as well as the Jamaica margaritas. Everyone thorough enjoyed their meals & drinks. We had a group of 9 and tried to split our respective tabs but the server refused to help??
We took the time to organize our individual tabs(6separate) with our cards in order and it could not have been easier for him. We ended up putting it on one card which was inconvenient. Would have been a 5 star review had our server prepared properly, and I say this as someone in hospitality for 10+ years.

El Jefe continues to be the most slept-on restaurant in Denver. Drinks are good, food is a step above (especially for the price point) and the staff is great. I'm hesitant to keep talking this place up, but they deserve to be recognized.
Amazing brunch. Best chilaquiles I’ve ever had.

Always great service and outstanding food. Margaritas made to perfection.Chef Eusebio goes above and beyond with his menu accommodating all requests.
We've been dining at El Jefe for years and love bringing our friends. The food is always superb and the staff are so personable. And the house margarita is top notch!
Excellent ambiance, peaceful, friendly staff, great food, not the typical mexican food you would get elsewhere.
Outstanding food and experience. So glad that a random google search after landing in Denver led my husband and I to El Jefe- they were very very busy but the waitstaff was extremely friendly and accommodating- entree portions were very decent! I ordered the pescado tacos and pieces of fish in each taco were larger than my palm and perfectly/lightly crispy. Great flavors. Great drink/marg variations. Churros were a perfect desert. Made me want to live in the neighborhood- very jealous of the people who live in walking distance!

We visited El Jefe regularly for Mexican flavor but more veggie forward than many other options. This outing didn't disappoint.
The food is always so amazing. My husband loves the mole, I had two orders of the shrimp ceviche and the tortilla soup. YUM! (The table shares one) and another person has the quesadilla and I will definitely be ordering that next time, it was very good!
The food was tasty but pricey. Nice atmosphere but too noisy. We went on a Wednesday night at 6:30 and they were out of 5 items on the smallish menu.
Jessie & Marco were amazing!!! Amazon’s service, amazing food & amazing drinks!!! Celebrated our friend’s Bachelorettes party on the patio. It was perfection!

Being out of rice as a Mexican restaurant is wild.. Paid $30 for veggies and beans (beans alone were $6 for a tiny serving)… service was good and this is only getting 2 stars bc my partner liked her tacos but overall just felt like a huge waste of money.
