Nice for this native Chicagoan to run across a Giordano's in Denver. The deep.dish was what I expected and tasted like home. I hope to try the tavern style pizza - the pizza Chicagoans eat every day - on my next visit.
I have been to the downtown Chicago location and it could have been that the plane ride from LAX to Chicago was lengthy and I was extremely hungry but the deep dish was next level! It felt as if it had taken its time to be great but here in Denver, it felt rushed and you can tell by the dough and the sauce/cheese combo. Was it still good? Yes, but not great. Would I come back? Good question.
My husband chose Giordano's for dinner because he loved the pizza from when he was in Chicago. We placed a to-go order since we had little kids that would not handle the wait of the pizza. I am not a fan of deep dish pizza and went with pasta. My Alfredo with grilled chicken and broccoli was very disappointing with little flavor and frozen grilled chicken strips. They called us and notified us that they ran out of tiramisu and asked if we wanted to substitute it. I asked...
