Hell or High Water Tiki Bar

I had a very uncomfortable and embarrassing experience at Hell or High Water Tiki Bar on New Year’s Eve. A bartender with short dark hair repeatedly made sexual comments toward me. Both my girlfriend and I asked him multiple times to stop, but he continued anyway.

After it became clear that he wasn’t going to respect our boundaries, I raised my voice (not yelling, just firm) and asked that he stop serving us and that another bartender take over due to his aggressive and inappropriate sexual behavior. Instead of addressing the situation professionally, he immediately told both of us to leave the bar. We didn't even have to pay for our drinks... this bartender told us to leave the bar even though he knew we didn't pay the tab. Shows me that he has no respect for who ever owns this terrible place.

Anyways, this was an incredibly uncomfortable situation to deal with, especially on New Year’s Eve, and it left us feeling embarrassed and disrespected. The first thing my girlfriend said to me the next morning was how uncomfortable that bartender had made her feel, which says a lot.

I truly wish we had never gone to this bar. No one should feel pressured, sexualized, or thrown out for speaking up when their boundaries are repeatedly ignored.

It's cute inside, but not cute enough to be charging the way they do. The drinks are decent but most of them end up tasting pretty similar. After that $23+ 22% tip, the drinks only last about 4 sips. You have to stand smack in the way of foot traffic to order which is awkward. If I have to tip 22% for a drink, they could at least take our orders at the table. I'm glad their workers get paid well, but $28 for a cup full of mostly ice and foam is definitely not on my list of revisiting.

This is THE BEST BAR in Denver. Fun atmosphere, the best drinks and always a good time. Take a peek at the Tiki setup in the back. Its incredible.

Just the dumbest. Party city halloween decorations, very expensive bad drinks, AND they add 20% auto grat for it?!? Who auto gratuities drinks? Ya'll wrong for that.

I freaking love this place. The drinks are amazing and change periodically so there’s always something new. Aaron, specifically, is the absolute treasure of this entire building.

What a great tiki bar with fantastic bartenders. I asked for a grog with a funky Jamaican-type rum and they made me a fantastic drink. Got a daiquiri next that was also outstanding. I've been to Smugglers Cove and other great tiki bars, but Hell or High Water may now be my favorite due to the fantastic service and friendly bartenders. Great place.

A must stop! Top quality tiki drinks that are well balanced and the bartenders are phenomenal. We came for a bachelorette and had the time of our lives. Special shout out to Aaron for making our experience amazing.

Very unique location. Drinks were fantastic and you'll never find these types of concoctions elsewhere. Food is ordered from the downstairs kitchen which has an award winning chef dealing out masterpieces of cuisine. Want something off the beaten path that's just as amazing as it is unique? This is the place!
