If you're looking for a no-frills spot with incredible jazz and a history to match, this dive bar is where you need to be. It was recommended by a local at another restaurant, and I’m so glad we took his advice. The vibe here is everything you want in a dive: unpretentious, welcoming, and full of character. And the jazz? What a fun place! Loved it as soon as I walked in. My girlfriend and I were there this past Saturday night, and had a blast. Bartenders, and fellow patrons, were super friendly. Shout out to Patrick, from St.Charles, Il., for keeping the Malort flowing. Nice back bar, and patio.

Like most bars in the area, it doesn’t have the best crowd on the weekends (lots of fights, overcrowded, my female friends tend to get harassed, etc), but I highly recommend their jazz nights during the week!
