Darling French Café with a most Tantalizing pastry showcase. Delicious food and excellent service. A special place to visit.

Dietary restrictions: The chef came to my table to answer my questions about ingredients in the soup. He was very pleasant and helpful.

My sister and I stopped here for a quick late breakfast and enjoyed every bite of it. We had eggs Benedict, quiche and lemon tartlene .
All the items were delicious , the service was fast and the atmosphere was casual.

(I’m editing my original post because the owner provided a very thoughtful response, and you’ll notice I’m leaving my original rating unchanged, I gave it 5 stars) This is a good place but unfortunately they, like so many businesses have sharply increased prices in response to other, larger businesses who supply them raising prices. Large corporations are to blame, and small local businesses will be impacted.

I celebrated my birthday by enjoying the fresh crab Benedict. So many places serve crabcake instead. Fresh crab is so much better! Plus the ones here are served on challah bread instead of traditional English muffin. Absolutely scrumptious! My compliments to the chef, Luis Orozco!

Ordered the chicken mango curry wrap on Grubhub and there was almost no chicken. Very overpriced. We will not order from here again.

I have been coming to this place for years as I live in the neighborhood. I don’t understand how it is still in business. I suppose calling itself “French” justifies the overinflated prices. Ok, but at least deliver on quality - the croissants are disgusting, the quiches lack flavor, the macarons are hard as rocks… I can keep going on and on - I haven’t found a single product that is of decent quality… Bland food. They recently catered sandwiches to a friend’s party and delivered a dried tasteless spread. How can you mess up sandwiches? I never stay to inside, the people at the counter are so entitled and unpleasant that I just want to grab my order and leave. Don’t go to Katherine, you will be disappointed on all fronts.

I’m incredibly disappointed to write this review, but I feel obligated to share our recent experience at Katherine's French Bakery, which was nothing short of appalling.

During our visit, we were excited to enjoy the highly recommended pastries and atmosphere. However, our experience was overshadowed by the outright rude and unprofessional behavior of one of the associates working there. From the moment we walked in, it felt as though our presence was unwelcome.

Unjustifiably Rude and Dismissive Behavior
The associate barely acknowledged us when we arrived, despite the bakery being relatively quiet. When we approached the counter to ask a couple of simple questions about the menu (such as dietary options and recommendations), the associate rolled their eyes and gave curt, one-word answers that didn’t address our questions at all. It was clear we were being brushed off. When I asked for clarification about an item, they sighed loudly and muttered something under their breath—it was so disrespectful that I felt embarrassed just standing there.

Disrespectful Communication
As if the initial rudeness wasn’t bad enough, their tone grew increasingly hostile when we took a moment to decide what to order. They openly expressed frustration, saying, “If you don’t know what you want, can you step aside? You’re holding up others.” Keep in mind, there was no one else waiting behind us at the time. It was an unwarranted attack and felt completely unnecessary.

Possible Racial Undertones
What really took things over the line was when I noticed subtle but undeniable moments of microaggressions. My friend and I, who are people of color, were treated far more dismissively compared to other customers. While others received warm smiles and friendly service, we were met with cold stares and hasty, borderline hostile treatment. At one point, the associate even mumbled something that sounded like, “Of course they’d ask that.” This comment was vague but clearly derogatory in nature. It left us feeling humiliated and unwelcome.

Lack of Assistance and Solutions
On top of being rude and disrespectful, the associate was entirely unhelpful. When we asked for guidance on a particular menu item, they snapped, “Everything is listed, just read it.” This lack of basic courtesy made it clear they had no intention of providing a pleasant customer experience.

Overall Impression
This experience left a sour taste in our mouths—literally and figuratively. It’s baffling that such an associate is allowed to work in an establishment that claims to represent the sophistication and charm of a French bakery. Hospitality is supposed to be part of the culture of any café, but we were treated as though our business was a burden.

Conclusion:
I won’t be returning to Katherine’s French Bakery, and I caution others to think twice before supporting a place where employees feel comfortable treating patrons so poorly. Management should seriously consider providing proper training to ensure such experiences do not happen again.

Came here to try their quiche and it was delicious. I also got the hubby a cherry bar, he adored it. Will be coming back often.

Cozy spot for breakfast or lunch. Great choices, lots of vegetable and egg options. I was waiting on a friend, and the staff went out of their way to be gracious.

Parking: Limited parking. Can park in the neighborhood and walk.

Got to the restaurant and was ignored until the register was cleared of customers then the guy at the register found the order passed the order to a guy passing by, THEN they took the order to 2 different counters to bag and then bring to me to then hassle me about confirmation. Don't order delivery they don't care about the order and they treat the delivery guy like trash

We were very disappointed with the foods we ordered. We had quiche, vegetable omelet, house smoked salmon, berry crepe, and pear salad. The spinach salad has rotten spinach leaves, not very appetizing. Everything tasted flat except the omelet was quasi OK. The service was not pleasant.
