I took a date to LaRoux for what I was hoping would be a quiet, intimate experience, but the place was so loud I could barely hear my date talking. We were seated in the front room where every table was full and the noise was overwhelming. Some of the dishes were very good, but the shrimp appetizer was heavy of breading and how it was fried. Same for the chicken piccata which was very heavy on breading and over fried. The short rib was excellent. They have also changed their menu to all small plates or the theater pre-fixed menu, which the above was off of. Felt limiting and may be where they do the majority of their business, but the lack of choices was a turn off.
