Ototo is one of the best restaurants in Denver by far. The food is exquisite, delicious, subtle and sophisticated. The ambience - right down to the handmade Japanese serving plates - is lovely and soothing. Really outstanding restaurant.

The food was exceptional. Everything was awesome. The waitress was awesome. It was my wife's birthday and she even put a candle in the dessert. The only bad thing was that the host was a complete non-smiling robot robotic jerk.

Appreciate the Happy Hour, and our standby dishes (Gyoza, Okonomiyaki and Yaki Ika) came out just right and with good timing. Scallops were great too!

Without a doubt a new favorite spot of ours. Located on Pearl st, this tiny restaurant is the younger brother to Denver staple's Sushi Den & Izakaya. However, don't let the size fool you - this restaurant may be the best out of the 3. Combining excellent service from servers such as Kelly, exceptional hospitality from manager Mark, and a talented yet humble team of chefs behind the counter and you have yourself a recipe for success. Do NOT sleep on this restaurant. (p.s the spicy tuna rice cakes are the best i've ever had)

As always - one of the best dining experiences in Denver. The food was outstanding and the service impeccable!

Kelly was an amazing server and the food choices were spectacular. The tuna tartar and belly were both delicious, as were the fried chicken thighs. It was such a great atmosphere and amazing service. We'll be back!

Food is good, but I'm very disappointed with the service. Our waitress apparently is also the bartender. We can see our food is ready on the kitchen counter but we had to wait for her to finish making drinks for others first. When we finished our dessert we were sitting with the empty plate for over 15 minutes while she's still busy making drinks for others. I had to ask someone for the check, and this tall guy who was pacing around doing nothing answered me with no facial expression “I'll find you someone” I was very shocked about the poor service overall, especially after all the excellent experiences we had at all the other sister restaurants.

Choose Ototo for a special 40th birthday celebration. We were seated in the back hallway. Our server was pleasant and promptly took our order. The problem came in delayed entrees and feeling like we'd dropped off the radar. Our server apologized once for the delay, yet the birthday person never received the special sushi they'd been anticipating. Finally it was handed to us in a take out box on our way out of the restaurant. The casual vibe was what we were hoping for but our table seemed forgotten. Instead of a special, lowkey celebration it was awkward and disappointing.

Very underwhelming. Most of the food was okay. The ramen was terrible. The service was unbelievable slow- 20 to 30 mins for our drink to arrive and between each app or entree. It took us forever to finish our meal and leave.

We are never disappointed at Ototo. Great food, great service. So many choices other than sushi. Their Brussels sprouts are the best we've ever had.

Food, service, and atmosphere is always great. It's one of our favorite spots that we frequent often.

Given that it is owned by Sushi Den, I had a higher expectation. It is more of casual dining experience which might come in handy for some people or for some occasions . In exchange, you get 1. Less trained servers 2. Foods that gets served in random order 3. Poor portion control per serving size meaning you either get too much rice or too little. It is not about bang for bucks but it seems inconsistent. 4. Aside from that, some dishes seem to be decent. For example, if you go in and stick with one order of single-serving size dish such as a bowl of ramen or such, it might be okay and maybe ordered a simple appetizer, but if you go in for a dining experience, now that is another thing. The more you order the less likely you will get much out of it. If you are not a frequent patron who knows what to order or what not to order but think of this place as a good dining place, you can spend the same money just cross the street at Sushi Den. Even if you don't have a reservation I am sure they can squeeze you in at the bar table, you will still enjoy the dining experience as much as the quality of foods. I was surprised that they served me a half-cooked grilled squid at last out of all the dishes I ordered but even then, we couldn't eat it. It wasn't cooked. Their skewers are pretty good and I highly recommend it by the way. In all fairness, I recommend so long as you know it is a casual dining

Our food was excellent. The crispy tuna roll, the mayo ebi, the gyozas wrapped in shiso leaves with a minced cod filling were unusually good. Our food was entirely memorable. Our server was helpful with a great sense of humor. We drove down from Boulder. It was well worth the effort.

Phenomenal food, cozy environment, and fast and friendly service. Our waiter remembered us from over a month ago. We love Ototo!

We ordered a variety of things from sushi rolls to beet salad to skewers to a whole fish. Everything was amazing! Cocktails were great-Japanese Shochu is so mild, yet flavorful. Service was lovely.
