Walking into this place felt like rediscovering a neighborhood I once called home. I lived in Wash Park for 13 years, and while it’s always been a great area, it was never exactly known for standout restaurants. After moving to the suburbs a few years ago, I met a friend there for lunch this summer and stumbled upon this spot by chance.

From the moment we stepped inside, the inviting decor, warm service, and lively atmosphere pulled us right in.We sat outside on a gorgeous sunny day, sipping what I’m convinced are the best margaritas in town, and the food completely blew us away. My friend and I have since gone back, which says a lot because we usually like to try new places but this one keeps calling us back.

Last night, I brought my husband and daughter to celebrate the 17th anniversary of our first date, which, coincidentally, took place in the same building years ago when it was Wash Park Tavern. Now reinvented as a Mexican restaurant, it’s officially become one of our favorites. My husband even said it’s the best Mexican food in all of Denver, and I agree, we happily drove 30 minutes across town for it.

The place was buzzing on a Friday night, so make a reservation if you go. The queso with braised beef was phenomenal, the steak fajitas were among the best I’ve ever had, and the margaritas are still perfection. We wrapped up with the Ghirardelli brownie and ice cream, which absolutely knocked my socks off. We’ll definitely be back — again and again.

PHENOMENAL EXPERIENCE! Jay the manager was so well prepared to share history, chef details and menu choices. Viviana our waitress was honestly, one of the most exceptional waitresses we’ve ever had. The tortilla soup was filled with so many delicious ingredients, perfectly balanced spices, and the presentation was perfect. The taco selections were glorious. Crispy exterior corn tortillas, rich with flavors inside! Tender beef, chicken, savory cheese selections. Truly Baja style tacos!!! The churros were stellar. Homemade vanilla enhanced batter, perfectly fried… premium cinnamon and sugar lightly dusted outside, served with warm carmel and chocolate sauces. This place is the most hidden, beautiful gem in the North Thornton/ Westminster/Northglenn area. Gorgeous Interior and seating areas. Very upscale feeling. Perfect meal.

The food is very good, dine in. Restaurant is nice for date night, but loud. Drinks are not inspiring.
Do not order takeout or delivery. The quality of the food drops dramatically, the accuracy of the order is usually an issue, there's no option to personalize.

Specifically, DO NOT order delivery from the restaurant website directly as the Gastamo restaurant group uses a third party contract with food delivery services in which they cannot track the transit or delivery of your food items. Food items may get picked up but never get delivered to the recipient and there is no option for the recipient or the restaurant to track the status of the delivery order.

I just experienced the most amazing customer service experience of my life! Perdida is possibly the best restaurant in Denver. The food is outstanding, the drinks and decor/vibes are incredible. But my review today is about the staff. The DoorDash driver accidentally picked up the wrong order. I contacted Perdida and they jumped right on the task of how they were going to fix another company’s mistake. A manager grabbed our food and delivered it to our house. I was so blown away that I had to write this review. I own several bars downtown, and I have never seen customer service this incredible. A HUGE THANK YOU to the staff!!!!
Sincerely,
Greg Gallagher

Great food, amazing presentation, and very good service. Only downside could be noise in the bar area can be a bit loud for an upscale restaurant, and parking can be tricky (there is vallet though). I've been happy with the taste of everything ordered. Theme is Hispanic crossed with beach/surfing. Chairs are comfy and the benches have large pillows like a couch. Chips & salsa come with 3 different flavors/spicy levels. Food quantity is decent, but you'll likely need more than just an entre if you're hungry.

My friends have been telling me about this place for a while now. I was excited to finally visit, and Saturday night I did, and it will be my only visit. I've been in the restaurant industry for 15 years so my eye is more in tune to the workings of this place, and wow! Complete disaster!! Our server was great, I'll give you that, but chatting with her, she told me what it's like, after I asked her questions of what I was seeing. Close to 15 minutes to get a simple guac? More than 20 minutes to get our first round of drinks? I thought maybe there was a call out, our server confirmed there wasn't. She said it's like this all the time. Maybe the blonde lady lighting candles peak dinner rush, (server said she's the GM?), can focus on more pressing things. Packed restaurant, but complete chaos. Nothing was running smoothly. I was surprised that with the GM being on the floor it would be like that. If this happened at my restaurant it would not go over well. Good luck opening your other locations that our server told us about, but clearly there's a lot of work that needs to be done at this one.
