Zewde, the owner and chef, was such an amazing host! the food was amazing and so reasonably priced. the ambience was warm and inviting. possibly the best meal of my life. Zewde was such a joy to chat with and so kind. If in Denver again, I will be sure to go back.

Getting dinner at this place was such a delight. I haven’t been to any of the other Ethiopian restaurants in Denver yet but I chose this one because it had all of my favorite dishes on the menu. The spice blends were a little different than I’m used to but super flavorful - highly recommend the gored gored in particular. The vegetarian combo was great too! The injera was made fresh and came out warm, which I don’t think I’ve ever had before. There was only one woman who appeared to be cooking and serving everyone by herself but she was an absolute delight and everything still came out in a reasonable timeline. I’ll be back many times!

FYI - the menu listings on google are pretty similar but the prices have increased a few dollars each on all the items. Honestly, I’m glad because they could still charge more than they do for the quality of these dishes. Dinner for two with a side and drinks was under $60 which is cheaper than anywhere else I’ve eaten in this city yet.

My favorite Ethiopian restaurant in Denver. This place is non-discript on the outside but is a gem on the inside with excellent food and a warm, welcoming culture. Zewde takes great care of her guests and served up delicious meals filled with love.

We first ate here over 30 years ago.
The food is as amazing as ever.
Everything is homemade and the same woman still makes this incredible authentic food.

We had the whole place to ourselves and our own personal chef. The lamb and chickpea was excellent.

The owner has operated the business for 32 years—and wow does she know how to cook! She is friendly and helpful, and even sent me off with an unsolicited sample for my wife since she was unable to join me.

This place is a gem!!

We were very gracefully taken care of, even though we didn’t make a reservation! Reservations appreciated, but I doubt she’d turn you away.

If you appreciate food made with love, come here!!

Delicious food, excellent staff (run by one amazing and fun woman). We really enjoyed everything we ate — vegetarian plate, coffee, wine. Fun and interesting decor, lots of stories, very comfortable.

Fantastic flavors, some of the best Ethiopian food I’ve had in awhile with fresh and fluffy injera. The owner was an older woman who was very kind to my children.

Kid-friendliness: Owner remembered children’s names and spoke kindly to them.
