I love the food here, but online hours, the hours on the door, and the hours it’s actually open don’t seem to line up… so driving across town to get something and seeing the lights off and the open sign not lit at 6:15 when online the hours say until 7 and the door says 8 are all misleading.

I ordered two açaí bowls online and quickly realized I made a mistake by selecting whey protein, which contains dairy, even though I chose soy milk for the base for a reason.. I’m allergic to dairy. I called the location right away, hoping they could swap out the whey for a dairy-free protein. The woman who answered (who I assumed was the owner based on her answering and saying she wasn’t currently at the store), said the bowls had already been made and suggested I just give them to a friend.
I completely own that the mistake was mine, I’m not asking for special treatment, just a little understanding. The interaction could’ve gone a long way if it was handled with any flexibility or empathy of the situation. I wasn’t expecting a refund, just hoping for a solution that wouldn’t waste food or leave someone with a known allergy without a safe option.
Instead, the tone and lack of care left me feeling dismissed. It’s a small moment, but one that reflects how much (or little) a business values its customers. I won’t be going back.
