The chicken schnitzel was not what was expected. Diner suggested veal instead. Wagyu Burger was a little soggy. The fish and chips were awesome! Also the clam chowder is still fantastic.
20% grat on party of 5 in empty restaurant was offensive. I would have tipped more just naturally. Also, chit sheet is presented as if no gratuity had been pre added. If I hadn't happened to look at the itemized check I would have inadvertently doubled tipped. I think this is a very unethical way to do business. If you 20% auto grat a 5-top at lunch, you have the obligation to let the guest know that verbally, or at least on the chit sheet you are asking customer to sign,...
Ship Tavern is a classic restaurant/ bar in Denver!! A lovely setting to enjoy happy hour, dinner before an event or a nightcap after an event! The setting is lovely, service superb and delicious food. Delightful!! Will be back!!
