Went there on Sunday for dinner. Atmosphere and vibes are great but food was horrible. At least for vegetarians.
Our server was very cunning and not attentive at all.

My best friend and I came to have bottomless brunch on a Sunday and this was nothing short of an amazing experience! Sean was our server and he was amazing and kind! He did an amazing job at explaining every item on the menu and the service was phenomenal. Our favorite dish was the Churro French Toast, it was so amazing! 10/10 recommend!

Tamayo is a cute spot for dinner or a date night. The restaurant is beautiful inside. The food was amazing. I loved the shrimp & crab enchiladas. The tortillas were homemade and the creamy guajillo sauce was to die for!

I sat at the bar and got the Tampiqueña and the strawberry basil marg. So delicious. Juliana was one of the best bartenders I’ve ever had. She is amazing!!!

The Huevos Rancheros were two small "street" tacos--crispy--with an egg and some sauce underneath. This is very difficult to eat, first of all, because it lends itself to needing to be picked up with the hands in order to get a bite. Instead you have to saw at the taco like a tough steak in order to cut a piece. I understand the chef wants to be "different" and "exceptional" but the food also needs to be easily edible. Avoid this choice. Everyone else's food looked good and the guacamole if amazing!

If you’re looking for an elevated, vibrant Mexican dining experience right in the heart of Larimer Square, Tamayo by Chef Richard Sandoval is a standout. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance of modern elegance and welcoming warmth. The décor is polished and stylish, and there’s a rooftop deck that gives the space a fresh, open feel.

Chef Sandoval clearly brings his passion and heritage into every dish, blending bold, authentic Mexican flavors with creative presentation and modern techniques. The menu offers a range of dishes that manage to feel both adventurous and comforting — standouts like expertly seasoned tacos, guacamole and queso fundido, and more substantial entrees like their salmon a la Talla or enchiladas all leave an impression.

Service is polished without being stuffy — attentive, friendly, and clearly proud of what the team is offering. The overall flow from ordering to plating is smooth, which enhances the experience rather than detracting from it.

It’s also impressive how Tamayo has kept itself relevant over the years. Originally opening in 2001, it’s still regarded as a corner-stone of Denver’s restaurant scene, continually refreshing both its space and its menu to stay dynamic without losing what made it special in the first place.

Overall, great experience, great food. Disappointed in some of the drinks I guess; after dining for 2 hours and consuming more than a couple margaritas, it is safe to say there isn't much alcohol in them. I have eaten there in the past and had a better opinion of the margaritas last time. My wife said her Mimosa was great though, maybe I should have tried that.

Great service and food, went for an anniversary and they offered me and my girlfriend a gift on the house. Great service and fantastic ambiance.

Wonderful restaurant. Food was delicious beyond our expectations. Highly recommend the infused margaritas and grilled chicken plate is a must. The service was also great.

Tama never fails to impress my friends! And our Server, Alex, made sure that we made our tight deadline to get to the comedy club. Everyone raved about their meal!

Simply outstanding. The food, service, and ambiance were all impeccable. It was our first visit and clearly one of the best restaurants in Denver. We will return the next time e we are in Denver.

This visit was the first time a server rushed us through our meal. Don't really want to go back anytime soon.

Service was wonderful. Atmosphere pleasant and casual. Entrees savory with surprising twists. Grillled chicken with adobo and mole was superb. The night cycle group that sped by the windows was added entertainment as well!
