Rioja is excellent. Great vibe - relaxed and easy going while also providing excellent service. Food and cocktails were delicious. Easy train ride downtown and a nice walk over to Larimer street for a great night in downtown Denver.
A practically perfect experience. Years ago, when Rioja was a baby restaurant, I spent a lot of time in Denver and ate here whenever possible - sometimes multiple times during a trip. It was my go-to fine dining experience and a place I have always recommended. After being away for over a decade, I was so pleased to find the food and the service as wonderful and satisfying as ever, despite the expansion and remodel of the restaurant. We had a lovely dinner! Hadn't been back to Rioja in years. Our server Troy was a great addition. Very knowledgeable and great recommendations. We a small plate of squid ink pasta, fantastic, and the black truffle risotto as well as the main course salmon. Delicious but the pastas were a bit salty. We had a nice table in the back. Not sure about the front of the house but the back right room was extremely noisy. All in all a wonderful experience.
