I'm a big fan of gin, and they make an incredible negroni! Seriously, one of the best! I bought one of their dry gins and saw that they have a pour room in Rino. Gave them a chance and it didn't disappoint. The pour room is rough yet inviting and the staff was amazing!
Unfortunately I can't really drink hard liquor anymore. But if I could, I would wet my whistle here. This family-owned business makes great cocktails in a warm environment. Highly recommend.
Do you have STRONG OPINIONS about COCKTAILS? Block Distilling makes most of their spirits in house and has a seasonal rotation of Gin, if that's your favorite spirit. They also have a fantastic, complex cocktail menu that updates every three months. If you're a "Whisky and coke" kind of drinker, you'll find something you like. If you -really- like cocktails though, you'll find something innovative and unusual and probably have some analysis paralysis deciding what to get. Good stuff. Recommended. š
Funny little distillery with great selection of unique cocktails ! Banana bread at work drink was solid !
This review is for the morning coffee. I know itās new but they were missing very basic things like lids? Sleeves? Drip coffee?! The barista didnāt seem to know how to make the most basic drinks. Took 20 mins for two lattes. They were friendly but they have some kinks to work out.
I remember this place in its glory days. Last year I went to their year anniversary party, chatted up the awesome bartenders, the friendly distiller, bought oysters from the vendor, shopped from lots of the artists in the market. But I was made so uncomfortable by one of the owners, the women kept giving me the oddest looks, Iād go so far as to say āstaring daggers at meā, that I just ended up leaving. As a LONG time customers I feel insulted as if I didnāt spend lots of money, time and as a small business owner myself refer plenty of my customers to The Block. In addition to buying The Block products at local liquor stores. Even going so far as to bring major liquor distributor friends in to check the place out.
Their cocktails are awesome. I had the French Girl and the Old Fashioned, both are excellent. Places like this make it so easy to support your local business.
Generally, this place is a great place to get a good mixed cocktail. But the last time I was in, I sat down at the bar and was ignored. The lady behind the bar asked two ladies that came in after me what they wanted, even though I obviously sat down before they showed up and did not have a drink in front of me. Then the bar tender started making my drink and stopped half way through to get two more people's order that came in after me. I feel like I was ignored twice. I guess I'm not the kind of guy that's noticed. Maybe I should be louder next time. I probably won't be back.
Pros: great cocktails and atmosphere.
Cons: terrible service.
Great drinks, great service, great energy. 5 stars!

Exceptional spirits and cocktails, both originals and classics. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service. You can see the production area from the bar, and smell the fermentation in the air. Parking is actually not bad either, considering that it's RiNo.
All in all, an awesome little spot.
A group of 4 of us came in last Friday evening, and sat down. We figured it was order at the bar since we didn't have anyone greet our table, that was fine with us. 2 of us grabbed everyone's ID's and headed to bar to order drinks. The bar seats were almost all taken except 1-2, and the distillery itself was not very busy. One bartender was busy making drinks and smiled. Then there were 3 other people behind the bar just talking, and did not pay any attention when we tried to order drinks. We stood there trying to get someone's attention for maybe 5 mins, and decided to just leave to Finn's Mannor instead.
To be fair, one of them was doing some bar back work, but the other two just stood there and didn't even look over when we said "excuse me". I wasn't sure if they worked there, but they were behind the bar.
Whoa, this place puts out fantastic cocktails with seasonal offerings, outdoor seating, great decor, and the staff are friendly. Big plus: they're super dog friendly and have a water station for the pups. Highly recommend stopping in if you're wandering RiNo (there are some great food trucks around on the weekends too!) or are looking for a great drink with an incredible bar staff!
Spent time with the Block at the Nathaniel Rateliffe concert. They were serving drinks and supporting the band's non-profit. The drinks were flat out amazing. Staff - including Craig (owner) - were awesome. And their approach/culture/spirit (of the human kind) is top-tier. Love the alignment between great product, great people, and great impact.
These guys make all their spirits in house, which gives a unique flavor to their cocktails
