I visited The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf today and ordered an iced mocha. The barista asked if I wanted ‘regular milk,’ and I said yes, assuming that meant whole milk. However, I saw her preparing my drink with fat-free milk. When I pointed out the mistake and clarified I wanted whole milk, she told me their ‘regular milk’ is fat-free milk and implied it was my fault for not knowing.
I find this extremely frustrating—most people would assume ‘regular milk’ refers to whole milk, not fat-free. The attitude of blaming the customer for this misunderstanding is unacceptable. If your definition of ‘regular milk’ is different from common expectations, it should be clearly communicated. I left the store upset and disappointed. Please do better in clarifying options and treating customers respectfully.

The rude counter person told me they don't make a drink that I always get here in Denver, Las Vegas and California, Tropical passion fruit tea Latte. She was unbelievably rude about it.

$8 coffee is absurd. I’ve always loved your coffee but this is the end.

Only thing is that the baristas seem fused so they were ready for me to just be gone. The food is great and it is a green business which is great. I am sure the baristas get a lot of stress

Ordered a small blended caramel coffee— picture had caramel drizzle and whipped cream. I wasn’t asked if I wanted whipped cream or caramel, so I assumed it would come like the picture. The very tall gentleman working was plenty polite, and he was the only one working so I’m definitely not upset with him. This was $7.30. I understand airport pricing is high but at that price point it should at least have all the components that the picture had.

Great service, friendly. Ordered a couple of iced coffees since they were out of cold brew. For $11 per coffee, this was the worst coffee I have ever had. Way too much sugar and syrup. Should have just ordered black.

Restaurantji Recommends
I have a 5 hour layover in Denver and the airport has dozens of places to get coffee. When I got to my gate I stopped at the closest place that wasn't a national brand. I think that the coffee I got was maybe one of the best cups I've ever had. The two baristas were friendly and happy. Again, the coffee was EXCELLENT! So now I'm sucking this one down fast so I can go get another. I bet this is the best coffee spot in the airport! I highly recommend the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

For an airport location, the line was way too long and they only had one employee working.

Nice different coffee shop at DIA. Iced coffees are sweeter than competitors. Good service but airport prices.

Initially I was pretty impressed with how fast they were moving. Until they gave me the wrong drink. When I told the service barista I ordered a vanilla latte with oatmilk, she said “no you didn’t”. Horrible customer service. The she told the cashier, who said “she didn’t say that” and I was shocked. At least three people heard me order the vanilla oatmilk latte. The attitude from these two was horrible. Customer service was the worst I’ve ever received. I’ve worked as a barista and that is never how you treat customers - 0/10 I will stand In line at Starbucks for a ridiculous amount of time from now on. Drinks are better, people are nicer, and they at least offer to warm your scone. These two couldn’t have cared less if your customers are enjoying their food and drink or service.
