I have been a local customer of three dogs for over 3-years now. Tonight was quite possibly the worst experience.. I am a big fan of this bar, but tonight the atmosphere was bad and the staff went over the top with extreme rudeness and disrespect. One in particular… So now let’s start with the story… We were doing the usually Thursday pool night at three dogs. My group of 4-8 people had put quarters on the pool table while two people were playing. The game between the two had gone on for well over 40 minutes (context: after every shot they would talk for 5-10 minutes and stand around the table) When we brought this up to the people playing we were met with disrespect and the utmost rudeness. When asked if they could play faster the response was NO, followed later by middle fingers and more unsportsmanlike attitude. One person in our group was flipped off. At this point we were not the only ones waiting to play pool. Once we asked them to play faster the hostility rose and coincidentally one of the ladies was dating the bartender (larger guy with beard) at 3 dogs.
At this point we thought it would be wise to mention the situation to an employee. Without listening to reason, the bartender (dating or friends of the girls) told us all that it was completely normal for 2 people to play a game of pool for over 40 minutes… this is a billiards pool bar… complete and total lie. even though 3 separate groups of people at this point had money on the table waiting to play, the bartender (bigger guy with beard) was hostile and not respectful of our concerns. Instead of hearing out our thoughts, immediately went on an inappropriate defense of his girlfriend or friends.
Unfortunately, I have to say if you want to come to three dogs I hope you know the bartender or other staff personally. If not, best of luck to you. What a let down.
This bar is really unfortunate. It is set up to be a great bar for people to have a great time but the bouncer ruins the vibe every time we go in and the bartenders do not help. Maybe one day they will figure it out!
Edit for owner response: To be clear, I did not use hate speech or slurs, you have me confused. Maybe just accept that your bartender is negatively impacting many of your customers instead of making wild accusations against your customers.
I ordered a Pueblo blackened chicken breast salad. The chicken was cooked to perfection
Great neighborhood bar and grill with the friendliest staff! Tony, Chelsey, Ed, Josh, Stephanie, LJ a big thanks to you all!!!
I love this bar. Ed the doorman is so nice and knowledgeable about the city. The food is great and I enjoyed the Wednesday Trivia. All of the bartenders are nice and give great customer Service. Shoutout to Chelsey, Tony, Steph, LJ, Josh and Dustin. I will definitely be back.
Bar is ok, but the glorified ID checker (aka bouncer) makes it unbearable. Guy has an authority complex and is overall an unpleasant person. Wish I was making this up, but he did not let me into the bar after I yelled at a biker that swiped my mirror - an incident that happened ACROSS THE STREET from the bar. No one from the bar was even involved. If I said something derogatory in any way, I could understand, but I literally said “eff you” to someone who swiped my mirror on purpose. And then the ID checker said I wasn’t allowed in for the “incident.” I won’t be going here again. If you’re looking for sports/dive bars with much better food, staff and sports, try Federal Bar and Grill, Greg’s Tap House, Highland Tavern, Rino Country Club, Occidental, Berkley Inn, etc. Anything is better than having to deal with someone on that type of power trip.
Wasn’t there for food but could imagine it being great
can't go wrong here, they could be a little less expensive but overall they do good here ..
Says it's pet friendly but there not . Service animal denied due to lack of paperwork..... should change name to no dogs tavern. Over hearing nearby patrons apparently only 3 dogs are allowed. I'm assuming they're not actual dogs.

Just a heads up, this is NOT a sports bar. Under no circumstance will they turn their bad music off in exchange for the game, not even March madness final 4. Find somewhere else for the game!

My favorite place to watch football games! The staff is excellent, the food is great and the people who come are just as excited about the watching as I am. It's a true Denver gem. Perfect alone and also with groups - get there early because the place gets packed. Shout-out to our bartender LJ!

I really like want to love three dogs tavern but I’m extremely disappointed today. We had multiple people call this morning and ask if the sound for the Colorado game would be on and we got multiple answers of “yes”. We arrived and asked again, and they said “yes” again. Once the game started the bar staff just said “sorry” and refused to put the sound on. At full capacity and 75 percent buff fans they should put the sound on.
Great bar food, great place to watch sports and play a round of pool!
