The Mahogany Grille has a wonderful variety of dishes. My wife had the filet, and I had the bison New York. Both were done perfectly. The accompanying vegetables were great. Our server, Dan, was attentive, helpful, and humorous. This was a wonderful dining experience!

Kelly was our waitress however the entire staff was great! Loved the selections. I've eaten here many times and almost never disappointed but last night was really the best experience so far! Only thought; more desserts that are suitable for lactose intolerant diners. We'll see you again!

Took my beautiful girlfriend for dinner on Valentine's Day. Everyone was very nice and professional. Luckily we got our reservations a week in advance or we probably would have missed out on an awesome experience. Thank you to everyone at Mahogany Grill, they all did exceptional and we will definitely be returning.

We were seated at booth adjacent to to front window which appeared to be ideal until it became obvious that the front door would not close completely each time it was opened. I had get up 5+ times and close the door. The hostess was oblivious to the issue. My spouse ordered halibut and specifically asked to be cooked to be moist but it came out dry and over cooked. Sent it back without replacement. I had a steak which was good. Overall an underwhelming experience.

3guys on a ski trip desiring an ‘elevated' dining experience. All ordered a steak. Mine was exceptional and sized such that I immediately knew I was taking some home. The ambiance is beyond description. Do not go here if you eschew wood in your decor! The service was efficient, solicitous, and friendly. My only critique is that they were out of the Malbec which would have paired perfectly with our steaks. The remaining wine list was a bit limited and over-priced. We ended up with a known wine (Quilt Cabernet) which met our needs but did not afford us the opportunity to ‘cover new ground'! When in Durango, I shall return.

We were celebrating our honeymoon-the restaurant staff and our waiter, Douglas, in particular, made the whole experience a once-in-a-lifetime event!

I was very disappointed in the Christmas buffet. The food was average at best and the price was outrageous!

Very disappointed! Beautiful restaurant.Ordered salmon, was asked by waiter how I wanted it cooked. I said medium, I received well done Brussels Sprouts were so hard and bitter. My husband ordered the Cowboy Ribeye and it was cooked perfect. Never offered a dessert. Waited 30 minutes to get our drinks. Had to flag down the hostess to get some service. Waiter was horrible. We are visiting from Las Vegas and not use to lousy service from a higher end restaurant.

Ordered steak, came out cold.
Would I recommend it?
No. Not for $46, and they stick it under a warmer then serve it.
Won't come back

My brother and I visited Durango in mid September, 2024 and dined here on our first evening. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service was good. We both ordered the 12 oz hand cut ribeye and we were both very disappointed in the quality of the steak. They were grilled per our order but the steaks were very gristly. I was able to eat most of mine but my brother had to discard more than half of his. Very disappointing.

Salmon was outstanding and our server Douglas made the entire evening one we won't forget. He was fun, professional and even though he had many tables made us feel like we were his only one. The host was also very attentive and accommodating. It was a wonderful experience.

We were here for the Four corners motorcycle rally. Got here right when they opened and must say cocktails and steak were on point! Service was great and I ordered the peppered filet which was cooked perfectly. My SO had the lamb and he said his was really good too. Will definitely eat here again if we ever come back to Durang, Co.

Exec Summary: Don’t waste your time and money here until management gets it figured out. Try one of many other fine dining options in Durango. Mama Silvia’s, where we dined the night before this, was excellent.

Detail: I truly wish I could give Mahogany Grille a more favorable review. It has such potential. Unfortunately, it did not live-up.

Though we had a reservation and were seated on time, we waited 50 minutes for drinks to arrive - and only after asking about them 45 min in. Then only part of the drink order was served. Another reminder. Then, finally, the full drink order about 15 minutes later.

We got some bread after about 55 minutes of waiting. But, again, only after asking about it.

After about an hour and 15 minutes, salads came - but half of them were not prepared as ordered.

We decided to cut our losses and asked for the check. A person I presume was the manager offered to comp half of the meal cost if we stayed, so we did.

Our food was finally served after about an hour and a half but had clearly been in the window too long. We were so hungry after waiting this long, we ate it anyway.

Our servers were well intentioned and kind, but caught in a bad situation. They tried to make-up for the poor performance by offering us the remainder of a previously opened bottle of wine. It was nice wine, and a nice gesture, but we sent it back.

Other tables with other servers clearly struggled, too.

In the end, we did not get the half off, though our server did comp drinks and a few of the lower cost meals. We decided to just take the loss and get out.

Management, take note. This is on you. You are not managing this endeavor well, and if that continues, the establishment will fail as this meal did.

Patrons, if you’re in Durango for fine dining, take a pass on Mahogany Grille until management gets it figured out. You could try Mama Sylvia’s, where we ate the night before. They do a great job at fine dining in our experience.
