The young servers were delightful, but the food was poorly cooked. While we enjoyed the cocktails and the atmosphere, we were highly disappointed in our meals.
I Loved the food, it is expensive, but I found it to be worth eating here at least once in your life time. I had the duck breast with the jasmine rice, vegetables and white curry. It was really good, I recommend getting the duck medium rare as the server suggested, I did not and still enjoyed it, but I know it would have been noticebly more enjoyable as medium rare rather than medium. The chocolate torte(cake) is delicious and so is the créme brulee!

Our dinner at The Mahogany Grille at The Strater Hotel was an enjoyable experience. The food was good, but not outstanding. Our server was adequate in her service. I didn't feel that she did more than take our order and make sure that we received our food.
We did enjoy the ambiance of the old hotel dining room. It was quite nice.
My overall impression was that this is pretty much an average restaurant in a nice setting. Somewhat over priced for what we received. I think next time I'll plan to eat in the bar.

The food was ok. Nothing special. Potions really small. They should say ala carte as you might have a tablespoon of mashed potatoes. Little to no vegetables on your plate. You pay a lot for not much.
Absolutely first class.

Went there last week following the recommendation of friends. Had the devilled eggs and the rib eye. Well, at that evening I'd rate the food sub standard: devilled eggs didn't taste like much, had to cut away 1/3 of the meat, and the potatoes had the consistency of raw carrots.
Excellent service though 😅

Service was great but the food wasn’t great. Duck was chewy and the curry was very Americanized. Tomato Bisque and chicken were nothing special. Best part was looking for the hidden compartments in the hotel.

Steak and Duck were both amazing, however they were smaller cuts and the overcompensated by adding addition vegetables.
Our anniversary dinner was amazing. We received free champagne, nice atmosphere, fantastic service and amazing food. Thank you for making our celebration something to remember.

Excellent , nice going to a place that knows what medium rare means. Love the wine pairings with desert!
We selected the Mahogany Grill on a quick visit to Durango. It was a great choice. Our server Kai was wonderful and the food was outstanding. My wife had the Elk steak and it was cooked to perfection. I had the “Herbert” 6iz filet and it was delicious and cooked to order. Not to be missed are the Adult Candy appetizer. Gorgonzola cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon and topped with a honey drizzle! This could be a desert as well! Overall a great evening out!
Our waiter, Wade, was delightful, very welcoming and provided a glass of champagne to celebrate our 47th anniversary. His service was what we would hope for...attentive and friendly. Food was very good, very creative. Atmosphere quiet and restful. Only problem is that it's very expensive even for Durango.
Great food and drink! Great service!

We revisited Mahogany based on the good experience from last year. Unfortunately the level was not the same. The server was very nice and responsive. But two out of six entrees had undercooked potatoes and one had surprisingly cilantro in the sauce. The menue variety did not really match with the historical ambience of the hotel. The noise coming out of the spiritorium bar was disturbing. The wine list was very good.
