Very much enjoyed our short stay at the Strater Hotel which is located in the historic centre of Durango. The hotel has a lot of character making it a very interesting place to stay. The room was comfortable and the decor and furniture in keeping with hotel style. Dined in the evening in the saloon where the food was good and live entertainment added to the atmosphere. Great hotel with loads of history and charm! The rooms are a bit small but it helps greatly having a closet large enough to store our 2 suitcases and several duffle bags and back packs. Opened up the floor space. Plenty of hot water! Restaurants on site but no breakfast options at the hotel. Albertsons Groceries are walking distance and if you go, don’t miss the amazing small Raman restaurant in the parking lot. A real treat! This hotel feels like a great piece of history & has lots to explore. The rooms are all named after historical figures that were part of the town. It feels very 'old Western' & the saloon is a great place to listen to live music (every night), plus the food is hearty. Staff were really friendly & helpful.
