Great spot and would highly recommend the bowls.
The fish is great. I disagree with the decision to put citrus oil and wasabi on the Nigiri. It doesn't need it and lots of people don't want the sushi chef to decide on wasabi. We had it loaded on and were trying to scrape it and the strongly flavored oil relish off.
If you are really a sushi lover I recommend the sashimi. They can't load it up with overpowering flavors.
Service is fast and they flip tables quickly. Its not a bad place for a casual date but not a fancy dinner atmosphere. Something in between a sports bar (TV's playing on the walls) and a nice sit down place.
Great place.
Food was great. We loved everything we ordered. Nice decor and atmosphere too. Except…the multiple TV’s throughout the restaurant…showing MMA (mixed martial arts) fighting. It was so repulsive to have to watch humans beating each other to a bloody pulp while trying to relax, forget about what’s wrong with the world for an hour, and enjoy ourselves. The TV’s seemed so out of place to begin with (this isn’t a sports bar, might have even categorized it as fine dining based on prices) but to be subjected to such violence was just wrong and thoughtless on the part of management and honestly every employee there. So strange. And too bad because literally everything else was wonderful.
Everything was delicious! Our first time ordering the Steam Buns, and they were fantastic. We are eager to return. The restaurant gets really busy very quickly, so I’ll advise to get there early and make a reservation. Certainly worth it!
Good food, good service. Served under cooked steak but otherwise good
Can't say enough good things about this restaurant, love love the food.
Honestly, I expected Pop Sushi to be better than it was. Everything was OK...but nothing special. I realize sushi is expensive...but Pop Sushi seemed like they charge an extra premium that the sushi did not warrant.
We had an amazing dinner with friends. The cocktail special was delicious, the beer cold and tasty. I would love to see a saki martini or a yzo drink on the permanent happy hour menu. Mojitos have been around for a while. We ordered at least half the menu and everything was sublime. Southwest role, tobiko, and tuna stand out as spectacular. Monday night is all night happy hour. I had a spot light shining on me which was pretty uncomfortable and I'm wondering if the whole place needs a makeover...
Our waitress was so adorable - I am so sorry to have forgotten her name. A blonde girl. Unbelievable yellowtail and gyoza! Food was fantastic but service made the night.

Our favorite place to go for sushi! The staff is so friendly the sushi is delicious. It's also super affordable. All day happy hour on Mondays!!
Hour and a half wait for walk in at 4:45.
If I could give ten stars I would. Our Durango local friend told us about Pop Sushi after we had Rice Monkey and loved it. I have celiac and a shellfish allergy and eating sushi has been extremely difficult in the past fifteen years to work around those two allergies and actually have something come out delicious- until Pop Sushi. Best rolls I’ve had in fifteen years. The chicken tereyaki bowl was also gluten free and absolutely delicious if you aren’t a sushi fan. Thankful for a new spot to hit when we visit Durango!
It's good sushi, but I've had better for the pricepoint.
The staff is always kind and that's probably the main reason I still go here instead of exclusively eating City Market sushi.
Lame. Happy Hour reservations. Lame.
