We stayed overnight at Durango! So why not try sushi at the mountains? It turned out to be delicious and fresh 😁 Server was friendly and prompt, food came out quick.
Appetizer was calamari and chicken karaage both were decision. Especially the karaage, generous portion , crispy but light batter and good flavor of the marinated pieces.
Sashimi platter was fresh and so are the sushi rolls 👍

We had a reservation for 6:00 PM on a Monday. At 5:30, we received a text from the restaurant saying our table was “ready.” We immediately called to clarify and reminded them our reservation was for 6:00, not earlier. They assured us the table would still be available at our reserved time.
When we arrived promptly at 6:00, we were told they had already given away our table because we “didn’t show up.” We would then have to wait an hour! This was incredibly frustrating, especially considering (1) we had a confirmed reservation, (2) we had already called ahead when they mistakenly texted us early, and (3) we arrived at the exact time we had booked.
This experience shows a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and complete disregard for their customers’ time. A restaurant that mishandles reservations this way and then blames the guest for their own mistake does not deserve repeat business. It’s quite unfortunate as we are local regulars that eat here every week but that has changed for us now!

It’s active there. Best thing was, it was open after going to the hot springs. We were starving. Miso soup was the best we tasted. Sushi took awhile. But, we left happy.

The salmon and hamachi sashimi were excellent. The lime twist roll was also good. Nice casual place for good sushi in Durango.

Some great dishes created outside the box. Couple misses but mostly hits!!! My complaint is the service. Seems scattered, under staffed. Dish timing / server communication was poor!!! Usually a 20-25% gratuity for servers. We were generous with 15% here. Bill was $230 + 15%. We'll look at other options for sushi.
