A nice quiet hotel. Great place for a good night's sleep.

The hotel has history - so do others in town. This hotel was nice and quite being a street away from most shops. The rooms were large and kind of furnished in a minimalist way. We had the bed, 2 small nightstands, a small table with chairs that would be uncomfortable for more than a short time and a dresser. There were many feet of wall space with nothing on the floor. Only 2 picture in the room. The tv was in a case that seemed to muffle the sound. Bathroom was good, room was clean. No complaints, just nothing outstanding either.
The service on the other hand was outstanding. Every single person we encountered was friendly, helpful and engaged in conversation with us. I wish I knew all their names, but we had a long vacation moving from town to town and I neglected to write those details down. They ALL are great and deserve kudos.
The outdoor area is also a wonderful place to sit and relax. We had drinks out there every night and enjoyed morning coffee there at least once. Even had one of the bartenders invent a drink to meet our specs for a tropical, no coconut, refreshing concoction. It was great!
Not sure whether I'd have liked staying on the main street or not. I have no complaints about The Rochester, but doubt I'll be back in Durango although it's a great place to visit.

We stayed at the Rochester Hotel for one night while passing through Durnago. Incredible. Large rooms, high ceilings, VERY clean, subtle classy esthetic, comfy beds. Extra special touches - friendly service, glass of wine with checkin, grab and go breakfast, super good local coffee. We loved it! Highly recommend.

Such a cool and charming hotel! Beautiful garden, stylish rooms, and amazing staff. Brandon and Stevie were incredibly kind and helpful when we had to leave a bad Airbnb before a wedding — they saved our trip and turned it into a memorable vacation. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely charming! My hubby and I traveled up for a getaway. Everything was comfortable, clean and cute! We enjoyed the complimentary wine and the Peeples Bar and the garden. Easy to walk to local bars and restaurants

We stayed at the Rochester for an anniversary getaway and cannot recommend it enough. The staff was beyond helpful and welcoming. The hotel bar had fantastic cocktails. The room was lovely, it felt cozy and modern. The location of the hotel is perfect! We were close enough to walk everywhere, but still not loud or disruptive. Can’t wait to return!

Passing through on our way to Utah and decided to stay the night at this hotel. Lovely space, the aesthetics, quiet, comfortable, modern and clean. Only regret is not being able to stay longer to explore.

Rooms: We booked a double queen and the space was adorable. Perfectly minimalistic. Love the wood floors and tile in the bathroom. Beds are comfortable and room was clean.

If you want to be in the right location and walk to everything downtown, enjoy the character of an older building with modernization, comfortable beds, and great service then The Rochester should be on your short list for your next visit to Durango.

Everything from checkin, the stay and checkout was easy and welcoming. The Rochester Hotel has a high-end feel but not on the bill. We only stayed for one night but it was enough for me to plan in staying here again next time we stop at Durango.
