Empanadas are a great treat, how can you go wrong with a delicious flaky pastry filled with flavorful ingredients? I had seen Lazo's many times in the Cherry Hills shopping center and my timing was always off, but today it was dinner time and I was hungry. First time here and I loved the empanadas! I got the spinach and cheese with the green avocado sauce. This is my first time finding good empanadas in Denver so I can't wait to come back.

The empanadas here are delicious, however, they are not the texture I expect from an (Argentinian) empanada. The pastry is flaky and crunchy rather than the more tender bread-like texture I remember from my travels. The fillings were great though.
