Beautiful spot at base of Mt Blue Sky. Echo Lake nearby.

Echo Lake is so beautiful. I took from Idaho Springs exit 240 off I-70 and turn south on Highway 103. Echo Lake is about 13 miles from I-70 and is on the right. The east road in enters from Evergreen Parkway. Both are amazing drives and views. Echo lake lodge closed 2022 but thankfully Denver parks and recreation is going to refurbish and reopen the lodge in 2026 for its 100th year anniversary. The lodge has so much history. When it was open in the past there was a souvenir shop and restaurant serving good comfort food. I'll definitely be there for the reopening.

I used to love this shop growing up. Unfortunately, it's closed, and I dont get to share this cool cabin with my kids who would love to see the inside

Sure going to miss this place. Has been one of my favorite places to visit over the years. So sad that it had to close. Was there on the final day? Remember, I had one of my first dates with my spouse at the Echo Lake Lodge many years ago. The brownies were always a must have.

Oftentimes prime real estate makes for some steady turnaround time for meals, but this day didn't cut it. Perhaps it was new waitstaff or a busy season over the summer, but our food took nearly 45 minutes to make it to our table. I'll give them and the tourists the benefit of the doubt.

Such a great stop for souvenirs, lunch and don't forget the pie! Really sad the city decided to not renew their contract after 57 yrs. This is a place of history and the memories should carrie forward for future generations.

What a great shop and restaurant! This is the perfect spot to stop at whether on your way to Mt Evans or heading home. Gifts range from clothing to post cards and magnets to pocket knives. My family found gifts for everyone here.

I stopped by yesterday before going up Mount Evans and everyone there was so lovely! I was told that the state is shutting them down end of year and that is SUCH a shame. They’re so conveniently located, super cozy, the food was delicious (I had the buffalo chili) and the souvenir shop has a ton of cute things.IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA BEFORE YEAR’S END, STOP BY THERE!!!

Had to pick up some dry clothes for our son, and found darned near a full set for him there. No problems finding what we needed. Neat building, packed to the brim with gift and souvenir items.

To update: Both of us were unwell feeling that night after eating there. After bowel issues subsided we were both fine. Didn't have anything else to eat after eating there so we are thinking it was the food at this place.Service was ok. Nice server. Gluten free choices on menu. Food was not great. Place was not real clean. Toilet out of service. Attached to gift shop. Humming birds coming to feeders by the windows but feeders were empty. Place was pretty busy. Fries not totally cooked. Burger on gf bread.. Burger was cooked way too much but not burnt. No flavor left in bacon. Jalopenios on burger...a lot of them really overwhelm the whole sandwich so had to remove them. My other party member had a Reuben and potato salad. Potato salad was good. Should have gotten that instead of fries .. But I hardly get a chance to get fries that are not fried in contaminated oil .. so got them.. They were not good.

This place earns a solid four stars. The servers, the location, and most importantly the food, were fantastic. The only thing that brought down the rating to four-stars is the building is a little bit outdated which also caused the bathroom/sewage pipes to not work, therefore Portapotties were inconveniently located on the other side of the parking lot. But, I ordered the original burger which was fabulous as always. My server told me that the lodge will shut down in 2023 in Mount Evans will be renamed and the building will probably become a museum or a historical landmark. Anyways, this restaurant was a good place to eat and conveniently located right by the entrance to Mount Evans and I will definitely miss it.

Neat gift shop, great food options and is the only thing near Evans. It was absolutely a great spot to stop and prices were not unreasonable for anything. I liked that the food was more unique and carefully thought out versus just random food that you could get anywhere.

Great food after or before a hike in the area. Little bit of a wait to be given menus but the food made it bearable. There's only 1 person in the kitchen I believe so don't expect super fast service. For this rural of a location, it was great!
