Stopped by for lunch on the patio. We had wonderful views! You order at the bar and food is brought to you, it's a little more self service at lunch. This was the perfect atmosphere we were looking for. Also a limited lunch menu.
Unfortunately, our party of 5 was completely underwhelmed. I had looked at the menu listed on resort/restaurant’s website. While expensive, we were celebrating so happy to go somewhere special. First of all, though the reservation was made months in advance, there was no table waiting for us and we were informed that we had no reservations. Lucky for us, we had a printout of not only the confirmation, but the fact that we had already paid the $50 cost to ensure the reservation....
The Ranch is just not what it once was. While the waitstaff and the beautiful location remain as wonderful as ever, the food has not. The menu is significantly diminished. The choices extremely limited. On the plus side, the fillets we had were of excellent quality, but the sides were disappointing. And ridiculously, they don’t even have bread service. The dessert was inedible. They apologized and explained they had a new chef… but, really? I am a longtime fan of The Ranch...
