I’m from Highlands Ranch and recently took a trip to Lamar to experience the local culture. The town itself is nice, and some residents and shop owners were very friendly and welcoming. However, not everyone shares that same attitude — unfortunately, I did encounter some blatant racism.
I stopped by a local bar, and while the atmosphere and customers were decent, the food was terrible — bland and clearly reheated. The biggest disappointment was the owner, who was rude, unprofessional, and openly disrespectful. If you’re looking for a pleasant dining experience, this is not the place.
I wish Google allowed ratings below one star, because this bar truly deserves it!
I appreciate you taking the time to respond, but I was hoping for accountability rather than deflection. My concern was about how I was treated — not about debating details. Every customer deserves to be treated with basic respect and courtesy, regardless of the circumstances.
I shared my experience honestly because I believe constructive feedback can help improve how customers are treated in the future. I wish your business continued success and hope this feedback encourages more compassion and understanding in your customer interactions.further, please don't assume something you claim to know! I was not vaping marijuana! I am a health care employee and I get tested randomly. Do not judge or assume you know everything man!

I recently took a two-day trip to Lamar, Colorado. Overall, the town has a pleasant atmosphere, and many of the residents and business owners I met were friendly and respectful. However, I did encounter a few individuals who did not reflect that same welcoming spirit.
My experience at one particular bar was especially disappointing. The owner, Karen, has created a nice indoor patio area where customers can smoke and relax, which I appreciated, especially after recently recovering from back surgery. Unfortunately, the hospitality ended there.
During my visit, I accidentally left a window open in the patio area. I returned shortly afterward to close it and apologize, only to be met with an unnecessarily aggressive reaction from the owner. She yelled at me, grabbed my hand, and reprimanded me in front of several other customers. Despite my calm and respectful demeanor, the situation escalated without cause.
As a paying customer, I believe everyone deserves to be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Unfortunately, this establishment failed in that regard. Lamar is a lovely town with many good-hearted people, but I cannot recommend this bar due to the owner’s unprofessional behavior.

We walked in, stood forever at bar for someone to come and talk to them. There was 1 person at bar and 3 at another table. This cheese is what was given to is for out pizza 🍕 not to good of an impression to me. Only thing good about the whole experience was the pizza. Husbands tea was nasty and my Dr pepper was in a warm can. Everyone knows if you pour warm pop on ice it's immediately flat. The guy at the other table said he thought he was going to have to just leave because there was no one to pay for his drinks

Love this place! Music was a little loud and it was hotter than hell in there but the food was great, customers were nice and our bartender/waitress was so much fun! She was very attentive, fun to joke with and poured one helluva mean drink (whiskey and ice). Can't wait to go back!

Update Your bartender remembers me and my wife she's black we never talked to anybody but the bartender while we were there and all your other employees that were sitting there drinking at the bar or staring at us weird then we were told that your restaurant was closing early and we were showed the door your bartender Jerry remembers I'm sure.....
